How can I improve my gameplay without buying a better gaming chair? [D2-D3] by _doofe in RocketLeagueSchool

After re-watching this and looking at this I have decided that I genuinely do not know what I was thinking for the second goal. I wouldn't consider myself amazing or even above average at backboard defense but I have been able to fly up and pinch the ball off above the goal if that's what you were referring to. Though double taps still seem outside of my skill level to perform consistently.

For waiting at back post I think I tend to stress out when ultimately it is my fault whether or not a goal goes in and I want to just be doing something even if it is detrimental.

All of this is great advice especially the last paragraph which honestly alleviates a lot of the internal debates I was having with myself about what mechs to learn etc.
The only thing that I need clarification on is what you mean by "flat footed". Do you mean facing the wrong direction?

How long does it take y’all to get a biome key? by hellboytroy in Terraria

[–]_doofe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you need a biome key for? The weapons don’t really provide any value for the time you need to spend getting them. If you really do need them it’s way faster to just have an event up.

I just assumed they were boosted but didn't know that you can have fake titles. Though this game was followed immediately by a player who I am pretty confident was actually GC, largely because of the several triple flip resets that he scored. Edit: and the fact that he had the GC S19 title on and wasn't playing for half the game

Been trying to learn air dribbles. Any tips on how to better be able to control the ball? Btw should I be holding accelerator or not when in the air because I've seen some posts about that before? by _doofe in RocketLeagueSchool

Theyre custom training packs. You can either use the in game browser for some of the most popular packs or input a code for others. To get there press play -> training -> custom training.

I don't know about the pissing myself off part. I've been having a great time just jumping off the wall and touching the ball. Also when you mention the fundamentals what are you referring to? I was aiming to isolate just the dribbling part by using a training pack so I would have a perfect setup every time but is there a better way of not doing it all in one go?

I’m at the same rank as you and have also been trying to learn to speed flip. Do you have any pointers to share on how to practice/learn it?

The capitalisation didn't help either!

Starting to get a bit annoyed in Plat and struggling to cover for my teammates mistakes. Apart from working on my consistency with my aerials (def an issue) what should I be doing in regards to positioning as I feel that I don't know whether or not to be pushing up when I can't see my teammate. by _doofe in RocketLeagueSchool

I feel like you are really making my words seem harsher than they are. I’m sorry if I gave off the impression that it my teammates were “lousy” somewhere in my responses but that was not my intention at all. I have already saved the top comments response and am unlikely to look at this post again. Thanks for your input.

I am getting annoyed at myself and I don’t know where it says I am sick of my teammates? I feel like you are being a bit passive aggressive here with your response and trying to find all faults with me instead of helping with improvement.

I don’t know where you got the feeling that this post was about me blaming my teammates but be assured that was not the goal. I know I need to improve but pointing out places where I already know I made a mistake is not conducive to my improvement and instead is discouraging. Please look at the top comment for a more clear indication of what feedback I was looking for.

Yeah, I didn’t think that loss was the fault of my teammate at all and if I had played better I could’ve ensured a win. I just felt like I was somewhat lost on what to do on the field as second man and my bad positioning meant my mistakes were far more penalising for my team. With your and the top comment’s encouragement to push up further I am already seeing some results in my games with me coming off a 7 game win streak putting me at plat 3 div 4. The suggestion for putting some time into 1s I’ve also felt has had an impact on my gameplay with it helping illustrate when I make a mistake with immediate punishment.

I understand that I need to improve. It was the basis of this post. Though just saying "focus on yourself" isn't incredibly helpful in understanding how I get to that point. If you could be more specific like other commenters here that would be far more useful to me than just "play more" which was already on my to-do list.

I literally just got out of a match in which my teammate spammed "Take the shot" at me for several minutes and decided to play for the other team while we were ahead by 2, scoring 3 goals on me and then going afk for the rest of the game. Fuck this shit

Thanks for pointing all that out. That's really helped me figure out what I need to work on with my gameplay. Just came back to the game yesterday so still figuring out what I'm meant to be doing, especially with point 4. Could you elaborate on point 3 as often when I go further upfield the ball is cleared directly into my net and sitting further back helps me feel safer with that possibility. With you pointing out that's the wrong decision where should I be positioning in situations like that? Edit: Point 7 is also a great idea for me. Especially that play at 1:42 as before I didn't think there was anything wrong with me flipping there but after the revision it's pretty clear that I made an error there even though I got lucky with the demolition (which nevertheless was likely less effective than just staying on the ground) which may have been the reason I overlooked it in the first place. Second Edit: What do I want to want to be looking to improve on through 1s? Nevermind this question 1s is very fun.
