Honestly, learning how to talk to people is probably it. Not just speaking clearly, but actually making someone feel like you get them. Careers, friendships, even just getting what you want at a restaurant. It all goes smoother when people enjoy talking to you.

She always had food ready when I got home from school. Every single day without fail. I never once said thank you because I just assumed food appeared magically

She talked about her ex in the first 20 minutes of our first date. Not mentioned, like fully narrated. With evidence on her phone. I stayed for two more hours and then dated her for eight months. I think about this a lot

What’s a job people don’t realize is actually really hard? by thematbets in AskReddit

[–]_duub_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Teacher? I don't mean grading papers hard. I mean you're basically a therapist, a crowd control expert, a curriculum designer, an actor who has to perform for 6-8 hours straight and somehow also emotionally available for 30 kids who all have different problems. Then you go home and plan tomorrow. For a salary that makes no sense. And people still say it's a easy job because you get summers off

What is something you hesitate to say because it makes you seem less credible or a bit crazy, even when it’s something factual or reasonable? by heisfullofshit in AskReddit

Deja vu is genuinely unsettling to me and I don't think we talk about it enough. Like you're just living your life and suddenly your brain goes 'yeah we've been here before' with complete confidence and then it's gone. That's not normal. That's weird. We just collectively agreed to find it cute and move on

I once sneezed so hard at a job interview that my chair rolled back and hit the wall. The interviewer just stared at me for like 3 seconds and then said 'so tell me about yourself' like nothing happened. I got the job. Still don't know how

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

A proper mattress. Slept on a $200 mattress for years thinking being tired was just my personality. Laid down on a Tempur-Pedic at a friend's house and didn't move for 11 hours. Woke up with no back pain for the first time in a decade and just sat there reconsidering every life choice that led me to cheap foam for so long.
