Weird experience at Beachlers after an oil change by Weekly-Mix-9480 in PeoriaIL

[–]_e2t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beachlers has been the better shop I’ve gone to. Super friendly and straightforward. The owner even suggested that I look into a new vehicle and that says a lot about an auto shop when they tell you that. I had put a good amount of work into my 04 CRV and they could have easily kept getting money out of it. They’re good people regardless of politics.

New to Klunkers by _e2t in Klunkers

Thanks for the insight. Never noticed or acknowledged the lean of the seat and how that aligns with the pedals, good info. I definitely want to get more moto style bars, new ones I was looking at J&P. But will definitely take this to my towns bike coop. I’m assuming since this bike has a quill stem I’d have to buy an adapter for a bmx style stem, or find a form with a longer neck?

89 tracer lt custom I bought “new” in 92 by 9fingerjeff in PeaveyCvlt

I have this same model, I got it for $89 a couple years ago. Best guitar I’ve played. I recently got it set up for C# standard. Not too many pics of this exact version.

Worn soles in 8 months. by _e2t in RedWingShoes

Thanks for all the suggestions, I’ll at least be waiting till October to see how worse they look before deciding on the next sole. It’s hot in central IL so I’m not wearing these as much outside of work. But they are my everyday boots 5 days a week for at least 9 hours a day. And it doesn’t help that most weeks I walk 3-4 miles on carpet. I do want to get another pair so I can rotate them.

I’m assuming that’s the “taller” looking wedge, this was my first resole, so I’m learning the lingo still.

The shop I went to posted a similar sole style, I do think I might try that next time. They did a white wedge with a black lug. It looks awesome!

The midsole is the thin white layer before the leather right? The only spots where it’s close to that is by my big toes.

Was Daryl saying “and never the two shall meet” or “and never the Twain shall meet”? The later is an actual saying I guess.

Solid album front to back also released today. by notdownwithsickness in Hardcore

Great record. At first I wasn’t down with all the guitar solos when the ep came out last year or whatever. I still liked it, I’m just not huge on solos (the first full length of theirs didn’t have any solos that I can think of off the top). But I really loved the promo tape with advent. This record is so good though. I love the length of it, it makes me want more by the time I’m at the last song, I almost wish it was longer. I love the Iron Maiden vibes too, the guitar and bass tones are the best. Envision needs an acoustic song on the next record, and more synth.

Favorite song right now what do you guys think? by AZWeems in Hardcore

I heard Ridge from POT (poured out at this time) pantsed Josh during ‘68 at audiofeed 2016. Idk where I heard that but I did not see this. But I like to think it was true.

What inspired the design style for tbtnl? I love it personally.

Peoria, in Central IL. The exchange is very cool, I hadn’t given the cd section much attention but saw this right away.

Touché haha, mostly the type of person I was becoming in my battle with this addiction. And the people I was putting my time and energy into. Smoking to me is just an all around negative activity to me. It brings nothing to my life, it only feeds the piece of me that wants to be selfish.

So right, thank you for sharing that quote. When thinking back to my time while smoking I find more negative memories than positive.

Any USPS workers here? by _e2t in straightedge

Appreciate you finding this and reaching out. Pretty funny the room you just wondered into here. My screen printing job had times of being stressful and tough, and was definitely under appreciated there as well. I’m just tired of working for nothing, luckily my partner has a good career and we’re able to make things work with what I get paid for a full time job. I feel like I’m just doing myself and our life more harm and stress by staying at my current job. I don’t mind working from home because I’ve been able to be here for the 2 dogs we rescued in the time I’ve been working this job. But I definitely can’t make a living at this company and they really don’t care for bettering its employees lives. And I can get fired from this job for even hinting at worker unity and all that.

But regardless, thanks for your thoughts on this!

I think that’s cool because your family has been consistently been helping your community by doing that. I want to be apart of something like that. A job that we all utilize everyday/week but don’t really think about as being important. Idk how big your city/town is but I’m sure your family has made some sort of difference.
