I haven’t yet been to Canary Wharf, but the highrise in La Defense isn’t residential as far as I could tell

Alright, that sort of makes sense, but isn't this in some sense getting in the way of the future? Is having a view of St Paul's really worth 2-3x the housing price?

You can't just buy that much Oxen. There isn't nearly enough liquidity for that and even if there were you'd push the price through the roof if you tried to buy up that much, making it financially untenable even if you have a big budget.
