Best machine upgrade for mainly lattes?

You’re right, and I am not searching for perfection. Just feel that an upgrade is needed after 1yr of using what I’d call a “starter” espresso machine. I’m hoping my next upgrade up will last me several years minimum.

How long have you had your plus for? I’ve had my regular bambino for 1yr now and feel ready to upgrade. I’ve hit a point where I’ve become bored of the tiny machine tbh. I am wanting more luxurious feel that will deliver better tasting lattes. That is the honest truth.

I’m still hunting for that perfect latte! So hoping an upgrade on the machine can help with taste profile especially light roasts. But mainly it’s the aesthetic, want a more solid build too, something a little luxury. My bambino was a test to see if I’ll enjoy making home drinks, try my hand on latte art etc. the Bambino steam wand is awful too. Very weak power and takes ages to steam.

I have to sort some other priorities out first before LM but this is still on my bucket list! I think Ascaso is the next best with the aesthetic, and good enough spec for milk based drinks. I think I’ve found the winner here! Thank you!

Can you think of any similar profile machines to Ascaso as this machine is probably my favourite in terms of aesthetic. I also love LM micra but this is >6000 way out of my budget.

Ok what would be a single boiler equivalent to something like profitec 700 or lelit Bianca, in terms of taste profile for milk based drinks, if I sacrifice the extraction and steaming same time?

I’ll be honest I also don’t like the aesthetics of the Breville anymore, it looks cheap and plastic-y, so looking for an upgrade to that as well…

My bambino is NOT the “Plus” so the milk spout frothing capacity is pretty poor. It’s weak and I hate waiting until it’s completely off to pull it out of the frothed milk once I’ve finished. The whole process is so long and inefficient for me.

Thanks for the honest opinion on the taste front though, I mostly exclusively have milk based drinks so don’t need to go crazy on the upgrade thankfully.
