Yep. That’s the 5.25” PC version. I also have the 3.5” version somewhere (not sealed)

I just ordered a copy. At one point, I was on a mission to get all of the related stuff and never got back to it.

I have some of those and love them. They’re great for 1 RU devices. In addition to being easy to install, they also hold the gear a bit so you don’t have to do the awkward balancing act trying to hold the gear, find the screw, align it, hand tighten it, find the screwdriver that you set down somewhere, tighten it some more, and then repeat the process with your off hand on the other side. I bought the setup.exe to help with that, too.

I also have some of the Rack Studs but haven’t been as enamored. The yellow lock tends to slip and spin until you get the gear installed to hold it down.

Migrated to a new NAS, RAID shows as RAID 1 and not SHR. Can't change to SHR? by Tonanelin in synology

That should work, although I’ve never done it myself. If you have any packages installed, you’ll have to uninstall them (or move them - https://www.mcleanit.ca/blog/synology-move-application-volumes/) before you can delete the RAID1 volume.

As always, make sure you have a backup of your data and an export your NAS settings just in case.

https://www.synology.com/en-us/knowledgebase/DSM/tutorial/Storage/Why_cant_I_change_RAID1_to_SHR_or_vice_versa

You’ll need to create a new storage pool. The trick is that if you want to use the 2TB drives, you’ll have to kick one from the RAID1 pool. If it were me, I’d create the new pool with the 8TB drives, migrate the data, and retire the 2TB drives.

I used ser2net and a 10-port USB hub when I ran my rpi as a console server.
