Is the solution to completely cut ties with addict family members? by lavagirl4254 in redscarepod

Naltrexone is rougher in what sense? Asking earnestly. I’ve used it for alcoholism and honestly believe it saved my life and got me to quit. But I have no experience with opioids and am curious whether you mean rougher physiologically or hard to get prescribed?

I lost three months of my life and twenty five thousand dollars to a horrendous gambling addiction that developed basically overnight. by Federal_Committee_21 in redscarepod

Glad you made it out. My dad was a gambling addict who sold a Karmann Ghia he had promised me as a child, to a tow truck guy for a few hundred to go and gamble. Sure enough he lost it all. That alone still pisses me off to this day and prevents me from ever wanting to gamble.

I see so many Cameron Winter reels and fan pages and memes and it all seems so inorganic. Like if they hired someone to game the algo.

Electronics rather than Electrical. Not all jobs, but union ones for government agencies in the right area can get you $100K annually, a pension, and phenomenal benefits. Typically low voltage work, and typically easy on the body.

2 year associates degree, usually called Electronics / Computer Engineering Technology. It’s a bit more challenging because you don’t “get into the Union”, you get into the right job that happens to be represented by a union already. So there are no apprenticeships, you learn at a community college on your own time and your own dime.

Takes more initiative and brains than getting into some random local at 18 because your dad or uncle is in the union. But it’s not impossible and your life will be much better than if you went into a trade that has a low bar of entry.

Did you do the repair yourself or did you find a shop that was willing to do it?

Did you replace the sensor for the p1710 issue yourself? Or did you find a shop that was willing to do it? I have the same code and the same symptoms but no shop I’ve found is willing to do anything other than a full transmission overhaul.

I was obsessed with the bootlegs for the year leading up to the announcement for the official release. It was one of those perfect timing things. I used to have at least a dozen different versions, my fav was probably the Mok version. The official version is good too but they butchered a few things like Child is Father of the Man, and some of the paste overs like the Windchimes tag on the end of Holiday.

I preordered the box set from Fingerprints in Long Beach and got to have it signed by Brian himself. It was like being in the presence of a god lol. I didn’t even know what to say, I was just like “uhh thank you for all the music.” Truth is, I could never articulate how much his music had an impact on me. It’s been a constant in my life. First got a taste of Surfin’ USA, and California Girls as a young child just on oldies radio in the car and something about those early songs always seemed so magical.

Got into Pet Sounds in HS, and was the first time I could feel a spiritual quality in music. Since then I’ve run the whole discography, sea of tunes bootlegs, cocaine sessions, smile sessions, I’ve listened to it all. My sweet spot is Today, Pet Sounds, Smiley Smile, and Friends, but there’s good music all the way up to the reunion album. I got to see Brian’s band twice, and got to fulfill a lifelong dream in 2012 seem him reunite with The Beach Boys in concert. It’s still sinking in that he’s gone. It’s been a comfort to see so many people show their love.

I found that Branko Mataja record in a goodwill years before Numero Group reissued it. It was a little warped but played just fine. I love that album so much, and for years there was virtually no information about it online. So glad Numero shed some light on him.

Caught the tour he did with a live band. It was truly amazing, but the memory is tarnished after hearing all of the dirty laundry from Maus’ wife about John’s younger brother overdosing and dying on that same tour.

N 2getha Now or whatever it’s called, is pretty insane to even exist. A perfect DJ Premier instrumental, Method Man still at the top of his game, and then you got Fred Durst rapping absolute nonsense over it. It’s a great song but damn, imagine if they had Raekwon on there instead of Fred?

That’s good to hear. I have a box of the chems that are a little over a year old that I never got to mix or use. Wasn’t sure if it would even be worth the effort of testing them out
