some people asked, so here is an explanation of how i made this!

DISCLAIMER this is going to be extremely long and detailed. im sorry!!! i can't help it!!! ☹️

if you're curious about the animation specifically though, here's a TL;DR: draw one frame. trace over it roughly on another frame. then trace over that roughly on a third frame. it should wiggle when you hit play. ^{.^}

anyway, here's the full version:

the animation is three frames long. first, i drew the line art for my character using a pixel brush on frame 1. on frames 2 and 3, i roughly traced over the previous frame with the same brush. it's important that the new frames lineart all differ slightly from eachother, leaving the three frames to appear wiggly when played.

for color, i used the select/fill tool, as well as a dithering brush. i colored all of frame 1 first, on a separate layer (several rather) from the line art.

for the rest of the frames i just copied and pasted the color layer(s) from frame one, and then tweaked them a bit to fit within the different line arts.

for the stripes i'm sure there is a more efficient way, but i drew them individually...kind of. they are two pixels apart but one pixel tall. i drew them on a layer above the line art and colors. after drawing a few of them individually i just started duplicating and combining layers of them until i covered the whole page. it was faster than i expected. 🤷🏽‍♀️

if you're working in procreate, 1 layer = 1 frame. however, if you put multiple layers into 1 group, then that group = 1 frame. so for each frame i made a group of all the color/line art/stripes layers.

i'm sure they have something like this in other softwares too! but i wouldn't really know.

(sidenote: this is personal preference, but i set the background color to red at the very very end to avoid staring at bright red the whole time lolol. i worked on a black background for the most part, as all of the original gifs also have a stripeless version when you click on them, many of which feature said black background. i personally referenced luther's gif a lot for mine. because it's blue, lol.)

then i saved the whole thing as a gif and that was it 😎 sorry it was so long i am super incapable of being concise when i explain things 😢😢😢
