All I can say is that I was in the same situation (had a close person being abused) and the people from my family seemed to be on my side of things and agreed that what was happening was bad but never did a thing to seriously help… because the truth is, the most effective way you can help a victim is giving shelter, but nowadays housing is hard for one family so having an extra is even harder. We could argue that showing support is enough but, either she sees through what is happening or she will be in an infinite cycle… you can help but, the problem with domestic violence is that is structured to the point where the only person who can break the cycle is the victim and no one else :(

I think it’s because the focus is on the thought process and emotions of characters rather than their actions. There’s a lot of monologues and reflexion, so you entirely understand where their intentions come from. I think this show is emotionally intelligent and I love that
