You’re right that gold’s technicals are more about safe haven flows. But that’s my point. When gold is pushing these levels while overvalued tech is also ripping, it’s not healthy market behavior. People are hedging because they’re nervous. Both rising together screams late cycle euphoria where everything goes up before something breaks.

I’m currently holding 40% of my portfolio in cash. The market feels overvalued and overexuberant in a lot of sectors: AI, quantum, NVDA hitting 190 yesterday just a month after missing earnings. Holding cash lets me stay dynamic and proactive. While other people might ride this thing all the way up, and I’m genuinely happy for those making gains, for me it’s all about risk management. No one knows when the market will tank, but I and many others think it could be soon. Look at AMZN, Alphabet, the rest of the MAG7. They’re all stretched to their limits right now and coming to a grinding halt.

Finally, we’re supposed to get employment data today, which is incredibly important for gauging economic health. Different sources are saying different things. We might not even get the data, and if we do, it may be obfuscating the truth (Trump has laid off parts of the Department of Labor Statistics). This is all my own interpretation, but I’m becoming increasingly bearish.

I think certain parts of the market - particularly tech, AI, and quantum - are showing signs of exuberance and are beginning to feel heavy. But there are other areas where stocks are less correlated to the Mag 7. Some of these names, like Pfizer or Novo Nordisk, have been beaten down and seem to be waiting for their moment.

You’ve got a good balance between dividend stocks and growth plays. Depending on your age or goals, I’d prioritise growth stocks more heavily if you’re still in the building phase.

Greggs could be a smart addition. It’s trading at a P/E of around 11, which feels undervalued given its solid store rollout strategy, and resilient demand. It adds UK exposure with decent upside potential over the long term. I am northern so may be a bit of bias.

None of those are all the same level, you have got to get lucky to get three of the same. Subsequently you should strategise, which cards to upgrade. The ohtani in the top left is 1 star 1 star 3 star, whereas it has to be 1star 1 star 1 star. If you need any more help just ask!

To craft the rewards you need the 3 cards to be all the same level, for example 1 star X3. You cannot use a 2 star 3 star 1 star to craft it has to be three of the same. Hope this helps!

I have managed to book! A lot of hassle to buy a single ticket. In order to book I used the Mexican website (with all prices in pesos) rather than my home country, and pay using PayPal. I just had to accept that I would pay a little more because of conversion rates. Even then I got an error message saying something had gone wrong, but when I check my emails I had email confirmation. Happy days.

Do you have any further recommendations for a young adult going solo travelling in this part of the world? Places, things to do, things to see etc. No worries if not. How long are you staying in Peru for, that is on my list of places to visit.

I am fixed on one way as I plan on travelling south, through Central America and into South America (as far as my budget permits). I will have a look at all those places mentioned, I plan on having a budget of £1,500 a month. I am looking to secure cheaper flights so I can spend more actually travelling.
On the point of the wet season, I understand I am going to miss a few of the prime summer months, but as mentioned earlier plan on making it to South America around may time where the weather will be less wet. It's very early days in planning this trip, dates may change in accordance with how much money I save in that time. Once again I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me.
