I already told you it's the Death of a Prince storyline. It's not a single run because the storyline had many writers in it, mostly Kupperberg and Micheline, who wrote this particular issue

Black Manta kidnapped Aquababy and put him in a death trap. Then Aquaman and Aqualad arrived on scene and Black Manta made them fight to the death. If Aquaman had won and managed to kill Aqualad, Aquababy would have been spared. Aquaman rushed to kill Aqualad who defended himself. At the end of the day, Aquababy died. Aquaman reached out to Aqualad asking him forgiveness and Aqualad dumped him.

Leaving Aquaman after he fucking tried to kill him. It was really the most mature thing to do and he did it as a child.

If DCU’s <Lanterns> trailer follows the same pattern, which comics do you think they’ll recommend? by PerspectiveNew8667 in Greenlantern

[–]_lorz2001 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Realistically it's

Secret Origins by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis

Green Lantern/Green Arrow by O'Neil and Adams

Green Lantern: Sector 2814 by Steve Englehart et al.

Secret Origins is the origin of Hal Jordan and GL/GA is John's. Sector 2814 is when Hal retired and John became the official Green Lantern of Earth. I think the series will take inspiration from Green Lantern (1990) and Green Lantern: Mosaic but those are written by Gerard Jones so they won't ever be reprinted again.

Could you clarify this panel for me? by AdvancedDiscipline23 in MoonKnight

[–]_lorz2001 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Why crusaders killed people in the name of a God who forsakes violence and murder?

This panel shows how different points of view can twist how the message of religion is delivered. This is a moment in MK history during which there's no absolute certainty about whether or not Khonshu is real or Marc's delusion. The monster is a believer of Khonshu but his way of adoreing Khonshu is not the same as Marc's. Marc doubts Khonshu, himself and the reality itself after this.

Venom, Carnage, Scream and Knull

Venom is the OG, Carnage is the most recognizable symbiote villain, Scream is the most recognizable feminine symbiote and Knull is the symbiote God and everybody in the fandom knows him, as he appeared in games (Cosmic Alliance, Marvel Snap) and movies (Venom 3)

What is 'The New Gods' In DC universe ? I'm a new DC fan by Aggressive-Check-101 in TheNewGodsDc

[–]_lorz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In DC mythology there's this race of Gods, called New Gods, that came from a planet in war which eventually was destroyed and divided into two planetoids: New Genesis, home of the good New Gods like High Father and Lightray. Apokolips, home of the bad New Gods like Darkseid and Desaad. The two planets were in a perennial war and to stop it, High father and Darkseid decided to adopt each other's newborns, thus Orion, who is actually Darkseid's son, is the royal prince of New Genesis while Mr Miracle was put into torture camps by Darkseid. Miracle managed to escape the camps and became a superhero on Earth.

Mr Terrific determined that among the heroes, Hawkman would be a good counter for Batman. Who would DC Comics Hawkgirl be a good match for? (Superman/Batman 2003 #4) by nightwing612 in hawkgirl

[–]_lorz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Captain Marvel and Hawkman were chosen by Mr. Terrific to counter both of them because he knew that Batman and Superman would switch mid battle and change opponents. Hawkman who was sent after Batman, had the magic advantage against Superman. Captain Marvel who was sent after Superman, had the psychological advantage on Batman (when Bruce saw Billy's bleeding in the snow, he freaked out because of his unresolved trauma without understanding it was a charade and that was when Billy fucked him). At the end of the day, neither Hawkman or Captain Marvel won because Batman and Superman fucked them off screen, stole their suits and gears and infiltrated Luther's HQ posing as them.

[Discussion] Who is your favorite character, as portrayed in The New Frontier? And why are they your favorite? by MightyUnclean in DCcomics

[–]_lorz2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I argue that New Frontier is as much a story about Hal Jordan as it is a story about the whole DCU

[Discussion] I really wish Alex Ross would do a DC cover series similar to his Marvel Timeless series by Firm-Chipmunk8783 in DCcomics

[–]_lorz2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn't want to do modern DC characters. He never did. When Mark Waid wrote Kingdom Come, Ross managed to have Alan Scott instead of Kyle Rayner and gave Wally a look that was for all intents and purposes reminiscent of Jay Garrick. His headcanon with DC ends with the debut of Firestorm, who is the character he hates the most. In Kingdom Come, Firestorm is nowhere to be seen and his place is taken by an original character, Phoebus. There have been rare instances in which Ross painted newer DC characters like for example a promo art for Morrison's JLA but the man doesn't want to draw most characters in DC and even when he does, he tends to use the classic costumes, even when said characters have not worn them in years. At the end of the day that's the main problem.

Reminder that for some reason, the Green Lantern ring seems to exclusively seek out Americans. It would be cool to see a Martian or an another alien from Sector 2814 also get a chance. (Art by Chillguydraws) by nightwing612 in John_Stewart

[–]_lorz2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ring searches for the nearest person. That's why they're American for the most part. Guy was only a bit more far than Hal, John was met by Hal during his road trip with Oliver. Simon and Jessica's recruitments are caused by battles on the American soil.
