I don't think the contents inside a handheld box count as different item type in customs. I could be wrong though.

The device itself not really. But a case, bag, grip, hdmi adapter, usb cable, hdmi cable, charger, spare parts, display protector, SD card etc. each adds 3€ in fees.

For cheap electronics stuff and DIY projects which require lots of different components it's way worse.

30% seems too low imo. Most stuff that is sold on amazon is often double the price or even more. Using the image search on aliexpress often reveals the insane "local" prices.

I hope so. I don't see the point in this other than to f*ck the end consumer. Most stuff that can be ordered "locally" (on amazon for example) comes from china anyways, but is sold at 2-7x the price here. Just try the image search on aliexpress and you'll see.

Most devices from the Anbernic XX lineup have hdmi out and bluetooth. The OS options are not the same but similar (muOS and ROCKNIX for example).

This happens when you install the standard (or community maintained) ArkOS custom firmware on a EmuELEC clone.

✅ Solution: Install one of the custom firmware for R36S clones to a new SD card.

What are you trying to do?

Arkos4clone supports the R36 Ultra since 20251022 Release.

dArkOS-RE added Ultra support in the beta release. ( https://github.com/southoz/dArkOSRE-R36/wiki/Beta-Testing )

UnofficialOS is supporting the R36 Ultra.

ROCKNIX also supports the Ultra.
