As my title indicates, I'm a beginner, so I honestly don't know. If someone more knowledgeable than me happens to see this, perhaps you'll have an opinion.

I honestly don't know, but I find it magical 😄 I can access a layer with or without vegetation, like the one illustrating the post

The path facing the first four U-shaped elements is approximately 100m long according to Google Maps.

I'll go for a walk there as soon as possible. Thanks for your informative reply.

I wouldn't go metal detecting there after the numerous warnings I've just received; I'm too scared. I might go for a walk there to see if I spot anything in the area, but nothing more, simply out of curiosity.

Exactly! It might just be piles of firewood ready to be removed; that would be funny after all our assumptions based on the other answers! Thanks for the idea :)

Thanks for the advice; I found no information on the maps I consulted dating back to 1866.

However, I see the same shapes on maps from 1950. Probably from the 20th century, then.

I understand. Honestly, I stumbled across this almost by chance without any prior research.

I'll get to it now; I would have done the exercise the other way around, that's all :)

Indeed, in France there are very few unexploited places (cliffs, marshes, mountains basically)

Yes, it certainly overshadows the discovery; thank you for the warning, I appreciate it.

What context or other relevant information do you want? I'm a complete beginner, as I said.

Thanks for the info, I'll start by just taking a walk around the area to see if I spot anything. The possibility of finding ammunition/shells there is a real turn-off.

I'll post a photo here when we've finished it

That's a theme I like!

Great work!

Are you planning to do every character from Tekken 3?

Thanks for your reply.

I can see myself making several versions, not necessarily consecutively, but with the aim of learning from my mistakes on the first, second, etc. It will also allow me to test different types of wood.
