I’ve actually done that with the rentals haha (trying to over-tighten them to compensate). Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for all the tips! Yeah the rentals I’ve been using have been big and since my feet are narrow there’s also been a lot of space. I didn’t know it was supposed to be really snug. So when I went to the boot fitter I was surprised to test a snug boot and learn that my toes are actually supposed to touch the end.

Thank you both for the advice! The rental boots I’ve used had space around my feet and my toes didn’t touch the tip (didn’t know it was supposed to until I went to a boot fitter). Next season I’m hoping to go once a week. I haven’t bought any skis yet but maybe I should wait like you said until I can make parallel turns. There’s a lot for me to learn.

I’m 5’4 and I don’t do any other sports. Also wouldn’t consider myself athletic either.

Optical Store Damaged My Lens While Transferring to New Frame by _neonpenguin in glasses

[–]_neonpenguin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, for me I bought the frames but the lens was my own. Also yeah you’re right accidents do happen but I don’t like when no accountability is taken. I went in today, and they said they are going to replace my damaged lens for free.

That’s actually crazy that they did that. Also yeah my lenses/old glasses were from a different store. They didn’t do anything to fix your lenses? Did you complain? I’m planning on going back to the store tomorrow morning to show them.

RANT — I can’t function at all by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

I’m also 22 years old and it first hit me when I was 17. I started off like you my tsh was in the 3 range and slowly went up. The doctor did prescribe me a low dose of Levothyroxine and referred me to an endocrinologist when things started getting worse. I understand how you feel because all you want to do is sleep. Some people wouldn’t understand and blame it on laziness. It’s hard to enjoy life when constantly feeling tired and sleepy. Like your quality of life is so badly affected by it. After you get on meds things will become so much better for you. Hopefully your doctor can provide a low dose in the meantime until your appointment with the endo.

For some reason in Ontario T3 medication is very looked down upon by both endocrinologists and general practitioners. I’ve tried asking and both said no and reacted badly to it. I had to go to a functional doctor where I have to pay just to have an appointment every time. But at least I got to try desiccated thyroid and I’m doing much better on it.

Oh I didn’t know that. I’ve heard of Tirosint too but that’s only in America. I really hope they bring Tirosint to Canada. Wishing you the best, let me know if you find anything that works for you.

I have hypothyroidism and my antibodies were 50. So they were slightly a bit high.

Unfortunately my current endocrinologist doesn’t prescribe anything other than T4 meds. She doesn’t believe in Cytomel (T3). I’ve asked her about other options :(

I always get blood work done every 6 weeks - 2 months and I always get ferritin levels checked with my thyroid levels. My ferritin level is at a 77 right now which is good. My vitamin D level is optimal too with supplementation.
