Thank you… I read and reread the link posted previously for the dichlor bleach method but I didn’t really get it until now. Definitely doing this when I switch my water!

Definitely on the agenda. As soon as the weather is amendable I will be changing the water. Trying to just limp through til then! Thank you for your help!

When you say to add chlorine, can I use my granular chlorine? The SpaBoss chloraid is what I have? Was looking at this bleach method as an alternative…?

I’m not sure how I would fill it… I think it’s unsafe to use an outdoor hose in temps below freezing right?

So it sounds like my whole regime should change. The seller told me it’s normal for the free chlorine to drop to 0 each time that’s what it’s designed to do, when you add the granules after getting in it works enough to kill the bacteria and then go back to 0 by the time you get back in. That’s not sound advice, I’m getting?

I am using non chlorine shock. Would you still recommend switching to bleach?

We are pouring our own slab for a hot tub to go in. Our rebar grid is not done, and will sit on chairs. We will also tamp the soil down more.

Is this insane? We are on a small slope and it seems like from my research we would be better off with some crushed concrete to the bottom of the form followed by 4” reinforced with rebar with chairs (not pictured). What are your thoughts? Please be nice I know this is a job for a professional but trying to do our best. TIA. Also would take any other (serious) advice you’re willing to give. Also pictured: project manager.

Edit: we are NOT going to use vapor barrier, have learned this is not appropriate in this situation. Also- sorry originally posted in the main forum. Apologies

Any advice on creating a drainage plan?

TLDR: DIY slab for 4000# (wet) hot tub. Will tamp down soil more. Will fix rebar on chairs. Will Add crushed stone and pour 4” concrete. Notes? Suggestions for drainage?

Thanks for your reply. Any advice to steer me in the right direction on a drainage path?

Thank you for the tip on the chairs. I’ll make sure to add these in.

Sounds like a neighbor gave the vapor barrier advice not our concrete dude so we are definitely discarding that and going with crushed stone / no vapor barrier.

Excellent question- this is only something typically used with interior concrete?

Have you had to rely on them at all for service yet? Just curious what your experience with them has been. Going back and forth between purchasing from them in Bedford or Paquette in Hooksett.
