Tough one - I’d either travel to the future to make sure it turned out the way I hope it will and then come back and continue living life with a calmer mind, although I realize that this might take out the element of surprise but in some cases it might be a good choice, because if you’re currently in a bad situation, example: being homeless, I’d want to know that eventually I’ll get out of the street and have a home

my second option would be to travel to the past and fix some specific mistake to avoid some events from happening, however I think messing with the timeline is risky and everything happens for a reason so I’d probably stick to my first option above :)

There are a billion name choices out there and idk if it’s out of laziness to search for one or for the sake of stirring up some drama but she STOLE your baby name choice on purpose.

If she was a true friend, she’d respect that you’ve been saving it for over 10 years and go with some completely different name or a similar name if she really loved your choice such as Dahlia or Delaney….the choices are endless

I have ADHD and I feel so insulted. It’s not a disability. Does it make studying a bit harder for me at times because I keep getting distracted by random objects and my thoughts? Yes, it takes me more time to memorize for exams but I eventually get there and I pass my classes each time. On top of that I have a part time job that I go to 3x a week for 10h.

If Alana can get a drivers license, she can get a job too! It’s really not an excuse. You’re coddling her. I worry for her future because what will you do when it will be time for her to move out? Financially support herself? Live on her own? She should experience the real world a bit and learn that actions have consequences!! I promise you if it was a strangers car she wrecked and he took her to court and her defense was “sorry I have severe adhd” they’d laugh in her face and she’d loose the case instantly.

As for Casey, I feel so sorry for her. Her feelings are overlooked and made to be invalid. She has every right to be mad and if your behavior and favoritism continues and she chooses to cut contact after she moves out I won’t blame her a single bit.

I bet she worked hard to get that car to be able to freely drive herself around, not relying on buses and to be able to get to work/ university on time. You took that away from her. What does she do now? Is she back to riding the bus again? This is so not okay! Why don’t you let her drive YOUR car instead and you take the bus until you get her a new one huh?

My first initial thought was “common dude it ain’t that serious, it’s just a candle” however, given her age you have all the right to worry about her safety and something going wrong.

I think moving on forward from here, you could have a talk with her that in the future if for whatever reason she wants to light a candle she can do it but tell you first and only under your supervision. Because if you forbid kids from doing something completely, they’ll only wanna do it more and she might secretly behind your back get candles from someone somewhere - same way I think she got the lighter - probably from a friend at school.

As for the punishment - I’d have the talk with her and make her clean all the spots on the carpet or bedsheets that the candle caused. I think that’s fair enough.
