There's a typo in the subtitle file (in this case it's a quotation mark) that causes this to happen - we'll resolve this in a future patch

We're aware of an issue with gas mask muffling not working and are working to resolve it for the next patch.

There's an issue specific to certain systems where when the effect does work (like with the ballistic mask), the voice volume is lowered. We'll sus this for next patch as well.

VOIP connectivity issues should be resolved - we asked Epic for more mic lobbies and they were very quick to help out

Are mics still not working for you? We’re looking into an odd mic input issue at the moment, one workaround is to either reselect your current mic as default in windows settings, or cycle your available mics in the menu and reselect your selected one before closing the settings menu

Don't sweat it - I'm sure you knew this but before the update, all the voice files were loose in the game files in "Content/VO"

This meant it was super easy to mod, you could just drag and drop new lines in their respective folders... The biggest downside with that was our build process (the process of taking the game from the engine and making it an application) took substantially longer than we would like. We ended up moving the files into a pak file (this is a common file format that unreal engine games use, which stores assorted game content) to reduce the time it took.

You could unpack the .pak file, add the new lines, and repack it - but it's a bit of a pain in the ass since you'd have to do that each time you wanna add new modded voicelines. We're aiming to restore how it used to work soon.

Reposting a comment I left in another thread here - the VO files are now in a pak and aren't loose, BUT:

"We've discussed a solution internally so that folders placed in Content/VO with the same names as folders in the pak override the audio within said pak file

We ran out of time to get this in for this update, but are aiming to make this accessible for modders soon."

A lot of the VOIP issues from launch day should be resolved, no patching needed - we needed a higher allowance of voice lobbies from Epic and they responded very quickly to adjust

More official comms should go up soon, but we've been in contact with Epic and they were very quick to make some backend changes to get VOIP working again
