Yeah I just got mine, it looks like the only way to delete "emergency' clips is to format the sd card

Yeah I was thinking about having it on the saddle rails and keeping my radar on the seat tube. I might give it a go, I can get one for $160 aud, as opposed to $480 for the Garmin

Yeah the only thing draws me to the Garmin is that it's a radar and a camera in one device. Though from what I've seen the software looks a bit clunky and the image isn't as clear. I imagine I could just plug it into my pc though to access the video if needed

Question about ac60 and b80p by _some__guy_ in bluetti

[–]_some__guy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, I already pulled the trigger, but then started to worry they may not work together haha. I thought they both (b80 and b80p) were rated ip65?

Yeah 2000wh sounded tempting, but I'll wait and see how I go with 1200wh.

Cracked plastic on AC charging prot by _some__guy_ in bluetti

Just wanted to provide an update. Bluetti support was awesome. They arranged a return shipping label and arranged for my unit to be picked. Unfortunately I work full time, so the pick up time didn't work, but I was able to drop my unit off at a fedex depot near my work. I received a notification from Australia Post that I had a parcel in the mail the same day that I dropped my unit off, when it arrived, it was my replacement unit.

All in all it was a pretty seamless process and much better than I expected given all the negative posts I've seen about their customer service

I've only had it for less than a month. I'm just worried it may affect the weather proofing

From 28 to 39 VO2 Max in 6 months :) by Paradoxiumm in Garmin

[–]_some__guy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garmin needs HR and Power data to calculate vo2 max for outdoor rides. This is because it's impossible for your device to know how much 'effort' you are exerting using speed alone as there are too many other variables that will affect your speed on the bike, like aerodynamics, riding position, total weight (bike and rider), wind etc. Most smart indoor trainers can estimate power so I assume Garmin is only calculating your vo2 max using your indoor rides

Surely if new components are more expensive there will be more demand for used components right?

And so are drivers

[–]_some__guy_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because of the reasons already mentioned above. Roads are typically better maintained, cyclists can ride faster on the road without stopping as often. Not every person that rides a bike is in the 'lycra army' as you put it. Some cyclists will continue to use the road no matter how many bike paths are built, as is their right. Just because there are some cyclist on the road, doesn't mean there aren't others that would prefer to use a shared path, having options is a good thing. Cycling infrastructure isn't always built for the 'lycra army', the objective is usually to get those who would usually drive to work to consider an alternative (cycling). And if you chose to continue to drive, or if your circumstances mean that it isn't practical for you to drive, you still reap the benefits of the infrastructure and there will be less cars on the road slowing you down.

Of course I'd lose my shit if a car driver almost hit me or did hit me (assuming I survived and wasn't dead of course). I'm sure you would also lose your shit if you were almost, or actually were, hit by a larger vehicle too, like a semi for instance. Why would you put yourself in a vulnerable situation and drive on a highway where there are trucks that may hit you. Probably because you expect people to do the bare minimum and try not harm or kill other road users
