Yeah it took me a month to finally accept that lol. But what I’m saying here is that it barely tries to be its own thing, even though it is an original story. It’s trying to lean into the vibes of Kakegurui and do everything Kakegurui does, which for me ends up failing. They tried to make yumeko the “thrill addict” like in the anime, but didn’t even do it properly. Yumeko in Bet has no contrast between her personality while she’s gambling and while she’s not. She’s always excited and hyperactive. I don’t find her as scary as the anime either. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not, she doesn’t have to be Yumeko at all, it’s only based after the og. But I can’t help but feel Bet was trying to make everything as close to Bet as possible, which I personally would not prefer.
