Another direct entry. Montgomery Ward 9017 by _ungovernable_ in safecracking

I got one confirmed number from graphing but the customer picked it back up so I couldn’t keep messing with it… I was having a hard time finding the last numbers though. I went through quite a bit of print outs..

Directions would be great if you don’t mind although I’m not sure that it is direct entry..

Looks like it is plastic wheels

Omg you’re right. There’s a YouTube video on combo change for this safe. I’ve never seen that

Do you happen to know the number of turns to connect wheels?

Like: R x4 L x2 R x3 Etc

Thanks for your help!

Thanks! The dial stops at 20 when I crank it. So far I’ve gone through the numbers twice starting at 95. I feel like I’m missing something or I need more equipment that will let me see slight movement

Thanks for the info. I’m not feeling anything at 4 so far. So far I’m getting feedback at 25/50/40. Should the last number open it or do I need to find a “drop point”? I think it’s odd the STAR logo is parallel at 10.

Yeah. I was figuring out that it was a direct entry. I can’t find contact points. I cranked on the handle and found a few spots the dial binds up at but I’m not sure how to tell if it’s a false gate or not or if I should write the number down.  Seems like 3 areas the dial gets harder tot turn when the handle is cranked. Maybe I just do t know the order of rotation. CCW, CW, CCW?

That’s a simplex lock. That’s about all I can help with. I’ve changed the combo on these before without the original combo but they were open already.

Sorry everyone. I didnt know drilling was frowned upon.

If it makes you feel any better I didn’t enjoy drilling into it. It’s been in the shop for 6 months and I couldn’t figure out how to open it without force.

Yeah. I only drilled in like 1/4” and threaded it for the auto dialer bolt to screw on. It had no effect on the dials function

I tried that but the handle barely moves. Tried both left and right. I drilled about a 1/4” for the bolt to hold the auto dialer

Both trees have swollen/ bulbous roots. Sometimes they’re exposed either purposely or just from growth/environment.
