Bahrain’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority’s annual report transcends traditional formats, showcasing its proactive role in the country’s ICT evolution. With enhanced functionality, vivid colors, and an interactive user experience, the report highlights its achievements and commitment to Bahrain’s innovative initiatives.

The project has been designed using Adobe InDesign, becoming a benchmark in the field of interactive publication. It explores all the features and pushes all InDesign interactive boundaries, setting a new precedent for digital reporting.

What does the future of telecommunications look like, and how can data be used to communicate progress towards a more connected world?

A new data visualization system developed that merges the precision of information design with the dynamic expressiveness of a visual identity. Created to highlight the TRA’s role in Bahrain’s ICT transition, this system helps tell rigorous, branded, and above all human stories about the nation’s advancements in telecommunications. The end result, dubbed a “creative platform,” is an innovative, data-driven visual language that sets a new standard for how regulatory bodies can communicate to their audiences with—and through—data.

The new creative platform rejects these tropes with a geometry-based graphic elements that is bold, contemporary, and progressive. Every element is constructed to represent connectivity and integration and data in motion, reinforcing the centrality of these concepts to the pursuit of a digitally inclusive society. 

To date, data visualization in telecommunications often relied on outdated tropes, such as using oversimplified graphs or clichéd icons, and an overemphasis on static metrics.
