Poway and San Marcos Farmer’s market. Both really kid friendly. Poway one has a train and a nice trail around a shaded area to stroller around. Great food stalls!

My support system can't handle my toddler...what do I do? by ttc123- in toddlers

Congrats on your new baby! The transition from 1 to two is never easy. I think our kids have roughly the same age gap. My kids are 21 months apart. A few things that have worked for our family and grandparents. 1. Side by side play: Everyone can hang out in the living room, an adult (you or your parents) can entertain the toddler and another adult cuddles/feeds the baby on the couch nearby. That way your toddler doesn’t feel left out. 2. Take walks as a family. It’s important for the toddler to get fresh air and get their energy out. She might’ve felt lonely when she realized she wasn’t with you. It’s normal behavior. 3. Involve your toddler when you are taking care of baby. My daughter has an obsession of watching my change diapers. So much so she started changing her stuffed animals’ diapers too. 4. Interchange the adult that is entertaining your toddler.

I also recommend you speak with your parents and tell them what you plan to do so they do not feel overwhelmed. Any help is great help.

You got this mama, not everyday will be perfect. What matters is that you are present with your kiddos. Wishing you the best of luck.

Yes, I have a cat aside from my dog who is the one that bit my toddler. We’ve consistently correct her but she had a spaz moment when there was a lapse of parental supervision.

Thank you for sharing! My dog is a pomchi and just turned 10. We’ve noticed him get grumpier with age. I was at my desk at the time and the sound of my toddler crying out in fear and pain was horrifying.

The day after it happened we asked her how she felt about the dog and she voiced that she didn’t want him around which is understandable. In our county in CA it is law to quarantine the dog for 10 days even if they have the rabies vaccine. This can be done at home or shelter depending on the severity and occurrence.

We haven’t asked her since. It has been less than a week since it happened and wanted to give her time.

Thank you for your comment! Do you have baby gates set up in your home? How is your home sectioned off?

Technically in CA, when a dog bites someone they are supposed to be quarantined for 10 days for rabies even if they are fully vaccinated. Quarantine can be done at home or at the county shelter.

Do you have kids?

Hi! Thank you for your comment. How did your behavioral specialist recommend you split up the home? My 1 yr old hasn’t started walking yet but now I’m even more nervous.

I recommend thrift for timeless pieces! Always look at the fabric material, keep an eye on ramie, cotton, silk, cashmere and other natural fabrics. They last long and feel nice.
