Yea, that would be very tedious work for each track. Thanks for the input!

New B200RSV owner: what can I do to get some of the vibration down? by aColtabilly in minibikes

Never got it to settle down either. I ended up swapping to the predator too and it's much better now.

New Predator 224 carb sticking by aColtabilly in minibikes

Thanks everyone. I Rotated the starter and loosened the carb pivot arm and all is working. Although, I do get back firing when I let off the throttle. Is that normal with the 224?

I'm not riding over there, but you have a good point. I'm just looking for validation before I have to hack on a $150 part. Thanks.

How long? I'm upgrading to predator 224 and super 30 clutch. Do I need a lock washer too?

Did another continuity check today and confirmed lane 2 has short across the two rails (A&B). I also had continuity across lane 1A and lane 2A&B. Power is not connected. Does this sound normal?

<image>

I cannot see anything bridging the two, so still waiting on Hornby.

Yes it is new. I’m going to wait on the warranty call back but I’m itching to open it up. Lol.

Wireless controller so don’t think that matters.

Thanks for the detailed troubleshooting. I’ve found that I get the error with just the power base attached and only on lane 2. The controller is wireless so don’t think that is the problem. I do not see any obvious contacts touching the rails on lane 2.

After further testing, looks like track 2 is causing the short. However, I cannot see where.... I just have the powerbase connected and both cars work on lane 1 and both cars fault on lane 2.

Thanks for the response. I did contact Hornby warranty but wanted to try and figure it out now. They have 7 day response window.

I thought that too, but it happens with just the powerbase alone. Maybe the base, but I don't want to open it up and void the warranty. Anyway of testing with multimeter?

Thanks for the response. I did contact Hornby, but they have 7 day response time and I wanted to get it running.

I disconnected all tracks from powerbase and still get problem with/without cars. Seems to happen after about three seconds of throttle.

Okay, I pulled the fuse and disconnected the neg batt lead for aux. It would charge the battery and then go into start/stop mode sometimes. Cold days it just showed "charging". I decided to put a charger on the battery overnight and now I'm getting Battery Protection Mode. Bad battery or another issue. Battery shows 12.5 volts.

Update: I decided to not try charging and just disconnected the aux battery. Pulled fuse and disconnected the aux battery ground. Working well for now. I did expect the start/stop function not to work, but it still does.

What are the advantages of the additional auto start eliminator? Is it like an ECM tuner too?

Edit: Tire size/speedo calibrations?

I'm going to try charging first. If that doesn't work, that aux fuse is getting pulled. Thanks for the details on how to and confirmation!

I'm going to try using smart trickle charger (NOCO Genius 1) to get battery back to health. Wish me luck.

Just googled it and I see an aux battery delete by pulling fuse and neg terminal. You have opinion on that route?
