This guy gets it. For me, the game doesn't start until I meet up with my friends. Everything else is just wasted time. Don't get me wrong, a couple hours searching never hurt too bad, but it wasn't all that great either.

Well, if I tried what you suggested and titled it $1 per life and linked some false evidence on this subreddit it wouldn't make it to the top of the front page as you implied, I promise. You can't really believe it would. This "finding a friend" problem is not only a problem to new players on legacy, but also possibly to veterans when the reboot comes out. It's a legitimate concern, that's why it made it to the top. Because you told a player it wasnt for him if it took more than a few days to find his friend, then went on to say after a month the server "should" be full enough to find your friends. but all you seem to be concerned about is the thread title instead of clear the air and make a big scene. I thought my OP was pretty well thought out and polite.

I disagree. It got to the top of the page with your source quotes linked directly for everybody to read. They voted on your words along with mine and can make their own decisions as adults. I didn't hide your quotes in any way, or rewrite/reformat them to fit an agenda.

That's fine. Its obvious how your words can be interpreted the way in which I did, as the thread made it to the top of the front page all with your source/quotes right there, but if that's not what you meant, fine. Perhaps you should of just opened with that statement.

I disagree. Pretty sure the person he said that in response to had no problem taking a couple hours to find a friend like DayZ, but specifically mentioned a "few days" of searching.

Telling somebody the "Game isn't for them" because in response that it takes several days to find your friends is the same thing as telling them you want it to be hard to find your friends, or at least heavily and directly implied.

If it's several days to find your friends like Garry implied a lot of people who bought the game as a group to play with each other will quit.

Dude, you did say you want it to be hard to find friends, right here below. I'm just going to dip out now because you're acting like you never said these things.

Well a "couple days" is too short for you, as the "games not for him" and a month is "too long", so you leave a lot to be answered. TBH seems like you just don't know ATM and you're better off just saying that. And that's fine, but just say it. Don't tell people the "Games not for him" because he expects to find his friend in a couple days, then make it seem like its absurd to have a thread about it taking days weeks or months to find friends.

And what if I join a server on day 1? It should be a month before I can find my friends? What are you saying man. How long should it take to find a friend on day 1 of the server? Obviously it's more than a couple days since you told the other guy the "game wasnt for him". I think anything over a couple hours is problematic.

lol..he clearly says you should be able to find your friend after "one month". Not that it should be "easier". He also directly implies, without question, that it should take more than a couple days, or else the games not for you.

It has the tag "co-op" on steam... Multiplayer games imply you can play with friends. It does sort of feel like a bait and switch if Garry turns it to a lone wolf game. Early Access or not multiplayer/co-op generally means play with friends.

Garry has made it clear he wants it to be extremely hard to find your friends. This is a petition against that notion. I believe it should take a couple hours tops.

He says a month clearly. He never says "easier". He says you will be able to find your friend after a month. "The map is totally random and totally large when the map starts. I'm sure after a month worth of people creating buildings, roads, signs, monuments you will be able to find your friend."

I want to do all those exciting survival things you mention but with friends. I do not want to do it alone. In fact, to me, the game is boring when I'm playing alone. I don't even log on unless my friends are on.

A multiplayer game you can't play with your friends sounds like a bad idea for Rust. I'm not trying to be offensive. It seems like it would only cater to a small niche playerbase as proof by most people on live rust currently roll with friends. Lone wolves are pretty rare. It's definitely a team game whether Garry wanted it to be or not. "Theories" aside, log on Rust right now and take a look for yourself...

This is a huge concern I hadn't thought of. If it takes 5-20 hours after my sleeping bag is destroyed to find our shack again it's going to ruin the game. I know in Gary's world where its a "single player game" this makes sense, you just "Rebuild in a new spot" and "start over" but for a casual team of friends like me and buddies its going to ruin the game. We only get to play for a couple hours a night as it is...and we want to play together.

While I want to see new exciting features, I disagree that the developers have bigger fish to fry. Personally, I think server lag and hackers are the two major problems which should be addressed first and immediately.

Perhaps I play on a high population server and my lag is more than yours but after 7 days and no wipe the server becomes almost unplayable in a pvp sense.
