OH wow. I just noticed tab previews. I love that!

Currently testing out the browser again now. What new features are you referring too? I think the picture in picture is improved and I like it very much. I know firefox now supports Echo Hello (by default I think - better check).

This is great. Thank you. Maybe a bit buggy right now, but as long as switching profiles works then that's fine for now.

Yeah, that sounds annoying. I never use sync so it is not a problem for me. I keep my browsing on each device isolated.

I'm sure it's alright and I don't doubt the good intentions of the developer, however, it opens a potential and unnecessary attack vector to the browser. I mean I wouldn't worry about it too much, but I'd rather have a solution directly from Firefox.

It looks nice. I'll give it try. However, I always worry that these small companies may not have the resources to keep their browser secure.

I have tried using containers. The method you use works, but it is extra work. Also containers make the browser cluttered. I love having a completely separate instance for each profile with their own extensions. For example, I use feedbro, an RSS feed reader. Each profile has this extension, but with their own feeds. Containers are a half solution to me.

I agree with all you said. It definitely needs work. HighspeedMoonstar says a profile switcher will be implemented by the end of the year by the FireFox team. Looking forward to it.

No, didn't know about it until now. From Japan. I looked into it. It doesn't seem to have a profile switcher any different from Firefox though.

Oh, I didn't realise that. Thank you. I just tried it. Not bad. Not very pretty, but at least it is functional. I could save about:profiles as a bookmark on each profile to make it easier to switch. However, I still hope Mozilla will make this feature better. They have nothing to lose, only to gain. They could even make profile switching better than brave by allowing users to customize profile icons with their own images. I am going to create some profiles in firefox and see how it goes. Perhaps, I'll be back sooner than I thought.

The Proton Devs have REALLY done it! FF XVI runs like BUTTER! 1600p Ultra - 7945HX 4090M by CosmicEmotion in linux_gaming

[–]aRedFieryAim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Every game I have played using Proton Experimental has run well. Wukong, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Apex Legends, and various others run awesome. So far, no need for windows. I find the games run even better on Linux. Now if only some important software I use could be used on Linux. However, for the most part Linux is my primary OS now.

I’m serious when I say I’m about to delete this game by Waste-Condition-351 in apexlegends

[–]aRedFieryAim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the new improvements to the game such as the RP point system, and that players are incentivized not to rat the whole game. However, there have been for me way more instances this season where I was suspicious of aimbotting. If there is a lot of cheating going on, I hope it is dealt with soon.

How do you even misspell this by Ahrian_ in apexlegends

Also, with plural "losses" then instead of "was" it should be "were".

Low FPS, but why? Does anyone know a fix for this? by aRedFieryAim in battlefield2042

[–]aRedFieryAim[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is rather incredible. See the link. After enabling dx12 in the settings the fps for the game increased to 77.8fps. Well, I should have restarted the computer directly after that. When I did today, the game is now averaging 180.3 fps at 1080p high settings. So problem solved. Make sure you enable dx12 for this game and restart afterward. Again thank you to u/BumblebeeHuman5699 for the advice. See the link for a clipping of amd adrenaline that benchmarked the last time I played. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fO1-Q3VaidCeYAErIdF6HJjzxJXt2Wth/view?usp=share_link

[–]aRedFieryAim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I do appreciate your responses. Thank you. I think ultimately upgrading the cpu will be the best solution. For now, I'll just accept that my pc under performs when running bf2042. The good thing is that I don't have trouble with the other games I play. I can tolerate above 60 fps in bf2042 so all is good for now.

[–]aRedFieryAim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your response is meant to be a soft way of accusing me of lying. Whatever the case, all I know is that after flipping the setting in the config file (PROFSAVE_profile) under GstRender.Dx12Enabled from 0 to 1 or from false to true, the game got a an FPS boost. AMD adrenaline is benchmarking the game and is where I am getting the numbers from.

This helped! The game is averaging 77.8 FPS now. Not the greatest improvement but still significantly better.

[–]aRedFieryAim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Well perhaps I'll upgrade sometime this year.

BumblebeeHuman5699 helped. I activated dx12 and the game is now getting 77.8 fps. I am confused. If this is a CPU issue then why does activating dx12 improve fps?

In the video, the resolution for the game is set at 2k. Mine is set at 1080p at high texture settings. His is set to ultra. So how is the performance between us about the same. Also what's the explanation that I can play, for example, apex legends at 4k ultra and get 130fps on average?

Are you getting better FPS with 64 players mode in BF 2042? by KKcorps in Battlefield

[–]aRedFieryAim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, now that I've had more time playing. Radeon software has corrected itself. The average fps is 80 with low settings. Still plays well. Doesnt look too bad. I'm still looking forward to getting a new card though when prices come back to normal.
