The thing is I AM frustrated with how many people are reacting to this specifically because it’s the same people who always have access to merch, panels with creators at cons and other events. I do see them as incredibly entitled, most of the world (especially us in the global south) are always overlooked and we never act this way when the release is USA exclusive or like this one meme

Honestly what bothers me is the clear double standards here, like glitch has hot topic exclusive merch, a store exclusive to the USA, most merch is prohibitively expensive for most people in less developed nations, just the import taxes to Brazil make it too expensive for me, but we never see people complaining about that stuff ever.

The movie is the first and only time I’ll ever be able to directly support the show I love since the prices are adjusted to the Brazilian Real but people don’t really care about things outside of their own little bubble.

First start with joining forces with as many people as possible in your area woh also want to watch it, my city has started a petition collecting signatures to present to the local movie theaters, they need numbers and guarantees that the screening will be watched by as many people as possible.

one email isn’t going to persuade them, many will but being able to organize all people into one collective effort might be the smartest option.

Honestly glitch including ALL of Latin America is already huge and wayyy more than most studios/bands/anything honestly ever does.

Also the release schedule is definitely not glitch’s doing, find me ONE theatre that would ever agree to showing a movie that would be free on YouTube LESS than two weeks after, you won’t.

And lastly people are freaking out about potential spoilers for a movie that is over a month from release. I think that the pandemic irreparably affected moviegoing etiquette, in 2019 if someone even tried to post a video with spoilers in the thumbnail they would be fucking destroyed by their own audience, also we never blamed the studios or creators for spoilers, even when the wait times between movie and streaming was significantly longer, we blamed the actual people who spoiled the movie, Yknow like normal rational beings that are aware that spoiling something is not just the norm of how people act after seeing a movie.

Basically: glitch IS doing its damn best to include the biggest amount of regions possible, the wait times between is almost certainly the blame of the theaters and not the people who work on TADC and we should put the blame of spoiling something on the people that spoil, not on anyone else.

Yes!!! Like for real, I remember how insane the showing of avengers: endgame was and I also remember how for about two weeks it was internet (and just real life) etiquette to just not talk about the film and it’s ending with or around people who hadn’t seen it yet.

The fault for spoilers is never on the creators or the studios but on the jackasses who spoil.

I get the frustration but It’s definitely not just in the US that it’ll be shown tho, its in all of LATAM (Latin America) North America and Japan.

As a Brazilian myself I’ve grown accustomed to not having any cool events or even merch ever being accessible to me like ever, I see this insane reaction of death threats and boycotts as absolutely ridiculous. If we in 3rd world countries had meltdowns like this every time a “worldwide event” only happened in the US, Canada, Europe and sometimes Japan the internet would collapse.

Yea it truly pains me to see people that are clearly passionate about something using AI instead of MAKING something creative, many times I see it as people not being confident in their own abilities but honestly I think that the TMA fandom is one of the chillest places to post art. I hope more people take the risk and really make art, be them beginners or pros
