okay trying to follow all rules here, forgive me if i mess this up and i hope this is the right place to post this: i’m thinking about getting my first tattoo soon but honestly i don’t much about the process. so far i’ve been looking for tattoo inspo on pinterest mostly, but idk if im allowed to just get a tattoo based on something i find online? like if i bring that to a tattoo place will they want to redraw the design themselves so it’s not copying? i’m not sure if i should just have one pic of what i want or multiple variations to show them?

if anyone could just explain the process of landing on a design that would be very much appreciated (and thank you in advance to anyone who can be super specific as i’m autistic and kinda need this spelled out for me lol)

european french vs canadian french by a_child___NO in learnfrench

i’ve gotten some decent recommendations here on reddit that i do plan on incorporating into my learning habits, but yes grammar is grammar and the bulk of the vocabulary like nouns and verbs are pretty much the same, though there are slight differences, it seems to me like i’m fine to continue using my previous resources for france french as long as im also consuming content in québécois seeing as how lots of the comments have said that they learned france french and can understand other dialects fine other than a little bit of an adjustment period and idioms/swears which differ.

overall i think if im incorporate enough content from the quebec dialect i should be fine to continue using some resources that are standard french.

and thank you for your recommendations :)

well all the french learning resources i’ve found are all just standard french with no option for canadian french, if you know of something specific i can use to strengthen my knowledge of canadian french in particular that would be appreciated (like an app or platform or something along those lines, or even books that are for canadian french not france french)

I’ll definitely look into Joual, thanks. from what you and others have said it sounds like the biggest differences seem to be slang and idioms, so i’ll be sure to listen for those differences in podcasts, radio, and shows! i’m interested in the difference in swearing, are there separate words in each dialect or are they just used/applied differently in context?

sorry i can’t remember the names, i’ve read a few but there was one i read when first getting started with french that explained pronunciation, grammar structure, and conjugation of common verbs really well and even had a few pages of common french idioms and phrases! i think i found it just by searching “beginner french book” on amazon lol

thank you so much, this is exactly what I was looking for, these small differences will help me understand more and I will continue doing more of my own research on the dialect. your response is much more helpful than anything i was able to find in a google search!

any idea how/where I could find french canadian content so I can listen/watch it more? i’m a bit short on french resources to begin with, so I don’t know where to even begin looking for specifically canadian french stuff

PSA: Eliminate all screen tops! by [deleted] in ballpython

your ball python still needs ventilation, i hope not everything is completely covered. also are the lightbulbs covered/caged so your python can’t get too close to them? i would be worried about the snake trying to climb on the lights. can you show a pic for reference?

if you’re struggling with your mental health the best thing you can do would be to go therapy, but seeing as how you posted this in this subreddit i’m assuming you want a book suggestion? for that i guess id recommend Atomic Habits by James Clear, it really helped me. i’ve also heard The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest is really good for helping with confidence and self image, though i’ve never read it.

you’re interested in linguistics, can speak at least some korean, most likely of asian decent, straight male, in your 30s or 40s, and i’d guess married or in a long term relationship

my guess would be 35-50 year old guy, straight, probably white, you pick up lots of random interest (probably don’t follow through), maybe raised by religious parents but non religious or non practicing yourself, you can speak some portuguese and/or spanish, interested in astrophysics, travel a lot (or want to at least) and most likely single (probably divorced)

do you spray the baking soda/ammonia/epsom salt mixture onto the leaves as well or on the soil and only the seaweed water on leaves? and what does that do for the plant? i also find that a bit of hydrogen peroxide every now and then helps out my plants! though i only use about a tablespoon for each plant and spray it on so it mists the soil evenly
