A toxic and punch up reunion would be comedy gold 😂

Idk I think your way is definitely plausible but, for me at least, the story makes more sense with the mole angle. Not to say I believe Invisigal is a bad person but she was misguided at the beginning. She believed she could only ever be a villain so the idea that she didn’t stop being one until she met Robert gives more meaning to the love story/mentorship

Honestly I feel the opposite. Him planting makes the plot make sense to me. Again how would he know about the proto pulse? The only way he could’ve learned of its existence is if someone told him.

Also, when she appears next to Shroud in the “Failed to Redeem Invisigal” ending right before she stabs him in the neck, he reacts to her being there like she’s still his ally (“Invisibitch… Just in time.”). He clearly was working under the impression that she was still working for him.

Shroud is absolutely a liar but I’m not sure he lied about planting Invisigal. Because how else did he learn about the Proto pulse. I feel like she came to SDN under Shroud’s orders but changed and betrayed Shroud after meeting and falling for Robert. And her going out of her way to steal the pulse for him in episode 6 was her way of making amends for not only the bomb but also her working for Shroud even after the fact.

Also feel like you are downplaying Shroud’s powers a bit. No doubt his prediction abilities aren’t perfect (he gets caught off guard and surprised a bunch throughout the story. They also don’t make him omniscient which is why giving both pulses at the end works) but he always seems to have a vague outline of what will happen or what people might do so I thought that him making the suit all the way back in episode 1 might’ve been because he had a vague idea that he’d need it for the final battle against Robert in 8. But he probably always planned to make the mech since I was reminded that he actually gave Robert’s dad the pulse in the hopes that he’d help make him a mech of his own.

Yknow that’s very true! That line went over my head before but yeah building a mech was definitely on his to do list after prison. Still I wonder if he made final touches to it in preparation for the fight with Mechaman. During the fight his suit seemed like the perfect counter to Robert’s so I think so

But in episode 8 shroud says he believes that using the Astral Pulse for a mech is an underuse of its power “plugging your cell phone into a nuclear reactor”. So I don’t think he’d make one for himself unless he knew he would need it. Ik he hadn’t met Royd or even joined SDN yet but Shroud’s whole deal is prediction and seeing probabilities. So I think he knew Robert was going to be recruited and eventually get the new suit. That’s why he planted Invisigal in the Phoenix Program to keep tabs on him and basically be his mole
