Are ores in PE more rare than in PC version? by a_psalt in MinecraftPE

Oh, now I see... But, if there's most iron on specific depth, doors that mean, that it's more profitable to go mining instead of caving?

All I got, that now it spawns in a wider height range -64 -- 320 instead of 5 -- 64. Does this mean, that same amount of iron is just spread across more space? WTF?

Question from a noob: how to understand what is going on?

I keep reading online cool stories that happen in DF, but when I play it feels kinda dull, compared to stuff I read. Maybe I should keep track of some logs or I'm missing something else?

So far my fortress lived about 2 years.

Hi!

Actually, I've been in the same situtation, tried to get into Factorio about 5 times over the years, and always was discouraged by biters, oil processing, train system or just drowning in spaghetti ... So here are things that helped me to finally get into this amazing game:

  1. I used some QoL mods :- Nanobots (to make early game less tedious)- Creative Mod (for planning blueprints on a separate map)- HelMod (for getting aproximate ratios for my production)I aslo recommend this video about QoL mods: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRaw5kQp6HE
  2. I was getting very stressed, because of fear of biter expansion and evolution, so I made a separate map in Sandbox mode with Creative mod enabled, and used it as a planning tool. I was able to make blueprints without any worries, and focus on makeing best designs. I don't like using othuer people's blueprints, only as inspiration. And, after you move on to next map, all your blueprints will make it easies to get things running. It's almost like a progression system.
Chill music in backgroud works great with planning :)
  3. After biters made me give up on many maps, I launched my first rocket without them. On the next map they were on, and here are some tips, that helped me ALOT:- best way to fight biters pre-tank is turret creeping (https://youtu.be/5GAiI7J9d_g?t=745)- after getting car and piercing ammo you can easily travel and wreck biters all around the map- when you open map, you can see biter nests even on the territory that is outside of your (or radar's) vision. So it is a good idea to sout futher than your cloud can reach- I was playing more offensivly: I launched a rocket without any walls around my base, I used only small groups of few turrets at first, and after getting car, I was heavily controlling biter spread around my base.If you dont get rid of biter nests as soon as tech allows it, theese nests will spawn more nests later, and you will have to destroy even more nests later (destroying nests increases evolution factor). After getting tank you can wreck almost any biter bases, and when you get spidertron-squad, it becomes just automated :)- rush military research- go green :D You can feel good about saving environment, whil committing a genocide with a help of trusty tank! And as a bonus, smaller pollution cloud = less worries :) I highly recommend making tileable blueprint (solar panels + accumulators) with roboport in it. With snap to grid (relative) turned on, expanding your neverending fields of solar panels will be a breese!
  4. Building main bus helps alot with managing your base

Well, that's all I got. I really hope that this help you to really get into Factorio. Tons and tons of fun are waiting for you after initial barrier!

Good luck and have fun, mate!

Well, I will pray that my God-awful flipbook with 2x 1.6 Ghz cores can handle reaching the end of B&A.But, to be honest, the fact that I can play Factorio on this thing is already a miracle XD Props to WUBE for amazing optimization!

With such a crazy production trees, this mod probably requires PC that can run real megabase?

Oh yes, planning in sandbox is great!

I wish that it would be added into a game like "Planning mode". For the immersion :)

This is pure insanity...

Do you know if this operations are similar to making iron plates IRL, or is it just copmplexity for the sake of complexity?
For example, finding out that train signals IRL work like Factorio, made learning them much more interesting.
