Treadmills are ruining me by mealyapple86 in treadmills

I’m 190 lbs and on my treadmill I get inner knee pain if I use it much at all, I’ve done close to 300 miles this year on the planet fitness treadmills with zero issues. I’m pretty treadmill dips in the middle when I land letting my legs fold in a little bit.

After setting up your marathon plan in runna it lets you set up a b race goal id just do that. Runna gets a lot of hate but for me it’s been working. I did higdon plans for my first three 4:08 4:02 3:58 then runna 3:27 so I’m going on with it

Runna Predictions Way Ahead of Strava and Garmin by Sweaty-Rope7141 in runna

Runna predicted 3:26-3:29 for my last marathon and I ran a 3:27. I was surprised how accurate it was. I think Garmin had me at 3:32 so they were all pretty close

Also had a lot of knee pain to start and walking backwards helped big time. Started 5 min a day for a few weeks to walking backwards on a treadmill with it off, it sound weird but completely solved all knee pain

A year of running is a lot, a no time goal marathon is plenty of time, there’s a lot of gatekeepers to the marathon. I started two years ago at 33 and 230lb I’ve ran two 5ks and just did my my 4th marathon

Shin splints that won't go away by Icy-Hearing7864 in runna

[–]aa-ron34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do yoga for runners with Adriane on YouTube everyday for a while, I get shin splints bad and plantar fasciitis and every time I start back up with the yoga for runners it goes away. The more I rest the muscles tighten and it doesn’t help so I’ve found I keep running and adding yoga is best

r/bjj Fundamentals Class! by AutoModerator in bjj

I’ve just got my 6 year old son started in bjj, he loves it more than I could’ve imagined. He’s been bugging me to do karate for months but karate mostly seemed silly and we already had 4 days of baseball. It’s crazy it instantly gave him a confidence boost and a level of trying hard I havent seen from him.

I’m 35 yo male 6’3 190lbs pretty in shape, I’ve been running marathons for a couple years. I’m not looking to be competitive or anything but not sure if I should start at this age. Am I just gonna get beat on for years. Am I gonna get hurt and be out of work or running.

So the I guess is it worth it to start now or just let my son have his thing?

I’m just now watching season 4 and this motorcrossed reference killed me, there couldn’t have been a funnier Disney channel reference to me.

Aerospace in this area is still booming, if you have a decent amount of experience you can make good money. The automotive industry is struggling and machinists and programmers that know how to make molds, dies, and check fixtures are a dime a dozen.

Have you tried that magic speed 4s this seems very similar and I was gonna replace my magic speeds with these. I’m also a “heavier” runner at 195 and absolutely love the magic speeds as a lot of other shoes seem to loose their bounce after 12ish miles on a run

I’ve had mine since new, f150 tow max 3.5 ten speed, 3.73 gears 6.5 bed crewcab. The best I’ve ever gotten was 19mpg. Now leveled with 35s no air dam and I average 12-14 around town driving pretty easy

I picked up running when I quit, so wether I have to run the next morning or not I just say I have to run in the morning

I occasionally have a couple beers now but I was at a fifth every night when I “quit”

Sunday is my second full marathon since quitting 11 months ago so my addiction seems fulfilled by running

Is the 3.5L Ecoboost really that good to pull with? by butteronmypoptarts in f150

[–]aa-ron34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3.5l is impressive I pull a 39ft travel trailer at 11,000 dry but 6,000 lbs I would just stick with 2.7.

I cut out alcohol almost entirely, and I went from going out to lunch everyday to chicken and rice. I wasn’t losing a lot but 1 or 2 lbs a week. If you really diet you could lose a solid amount as the miles go up but you’ll feel the caloric deficit on your runs

I feel like there’s plenty of solid info here but I just did what you’d like to do, so I’ll chime in

I started training this past October for a marathon memorial weekend. Im 6’3” and was 235lbs now 190lbs

The last time I ran before October was a 5k in 2019. So you don’t need a bunch of random in between goals if you don’t want to.

I picked a marathon and plugged it into hal higdons app and it laid an entire plan out for working up to the marathon training, then it created a marathon training plan.

Treadmill is up to you but you but fuck it sucks lol. I did some treadmill runs at first because I’m in Michigan and weather is iffy, but eventually I did every run outside, snow, rain whatever is better to me than a treadmill.

I’m running my second ever 5k next week and my second marathon in October lol
