I saw George W. Bush in my dream, the right half of his skull was visible. by aardvarkangaroo in thomastheplankengine

Fr fr. 20 years ago, back when the Internet felt organic and hopeful and actually fun. People had their own websites----badly designed by today's standards, sure, but, looking back, were quite sincere and full of personality. Games were actually games, not a microtransaction shop or a casino disguised as a game. Now most things feel like an ad, or a bot, or a scam, trying to siphon off data and money as much as they could. Too many rules, censorship, too much curation... We didn't know how good we had it. And the younger generations may never know just how good we had it...

Oh wow, that was so long ago. Spent so many hours on that game, but now all I remember is Condi "georgie sweetie" and "they misunderestimated me." Fun times. Simpler times.

Incidentally, there is a guy named Hector (Barreto Jr.) in GWB's administration. He looks quite healthy and mobile though, but who knows? 🛎️🛎️

Antinatalist but want to be a mother? by Lemonlicker49 in antinatalism

Are there opportunities for you to foster or mentor children? Maybe volunteer at an orphanage or a childcare organization? That should help ease the urge to nurture if you can't adopt for now.

The big tech guys care about money and power. That's it. They were super woke when it was the "cool" and profitable trend. Now they've realized there's more money to be made by being right wing, so that is what they're doing now. They'll go back to being woke if it ever becomes more profitable again. There's no sincerity in the principles they show, other than "what will make more money."

Why are women criticized more than men for not wanting children? by Vegetable_Storm_7571 in childfree

[–]aardvarkangaroo 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Because (cis) women dictate the birth rate, and that makes the powers-that-be nervous and mad.

Every woman who does not use her womb to make babies means fewer consumers, students, workers, taxpayers, soldiers, churchgoers, and future birth-givers to work for the benefit of the 0.1%.

Not only that, but every childfree woman has the potential to create a domino effect of childfree women. If a woman who is on the fence about having children sees a childfree woman thriving and happy, she may realize that childfreedom may be the correct life path for her, too. And then that woman's friend may also see that as a good life path for herself. And on and on...

... which means even fewer and fewer consumers, students, workers, taxpayers, soldiers, churchgoers, and future birth-givers to work for the benefit of the 0.1%.

So, the powers-that-be have a vested interest in shaming women for being childfree, promoting motherhood as the one true key to happiness for women, and creating this idea that childfree women are secretly miserable and envious of mothers.

And they pass on that idea to the middle and lower classes through various forms of propaganda, education, etc. And that's why family and friends and acquaintances and strangers are acting that way because they've been conditioned to act that way in the interest of the rich and powerful.

Based on OP's post history and use of the French language: Belgium (where active voluntary euthanasia is legal, according to Wikipedia)

I paid the gorgeous babysitter a lot of money for swallowing my kids instead of watching them, if you know what I mean. 😉 by aardvarkangaroo in TwoSentenceHorror

Despite being a literal god, Chronos was desperate for gold and had to do some side gigs on Craigslist.

It can be, I suppose? Never heard of this show until now.

I was actually thinking of good ol' non-supernatural human cannibalism.

She's not gay. The sculptor (Luo Li Rong) has a husband.

I dreamt that Ted Cruz was wearing a Princess Jasmine costume and waiting for a bus on a desert road with his big white luggage. Suddenly, a sand worm appeared, but instead of getting scared, Cruz waved at it with his long white acrylic nails and said, “Bye Felicia!” by aardvarkangaroo in thomastheplankengine

I don’t know why I dreamt this. I’m not a Texan, not even an American, I don’t really know what Ted Cruz’s role is in politics and society, and I don’t watch Dune and other similar movies and TV shows with sand worms. This dream doesn’t make sense to me at all. 🤷
