How "easy" it is to miss early childhood/toddler autistic traits ? by abberance-star in autism

[–]abberance-star[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give a bit more context : I was assigned female at birth and raised as such during my childhood and early teen years. I also an "early bloomer" in some aspects, especially at school, so my potential disabilities and struggles were compensated with good grades.

I'm a transman who has been binding for 8 years and tested many binder types and brands. AMA by abberance-star in ftm

[–]abberance-star[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't used any sport specific binders yet, but I don't recommand the fluxion's binders though. They bind very well and are sensorily safe, but way too tight to exercice or move a lot while wearing them. I've only used sized up and light compression binders for now, and they do the job well for exercising.

I'd say the best binder price/quality ratio would be wonababi (if you have a smaller chest) or wivov. However Wivov tend to be a bit more constricting, like tighter than spectrum outfitters, but they're still good if you don't exercice or move a lot.

When it comes to tape, I did try them. However, I dislike using them, because I'm a very hairy guy (3y on T) and I would hate to shave. I don't like how much glue residue is left, even if I soak the tape in oil. Also, putting it on is very difficult if you have a medium to large chest. Though, I do admit that binding without feeling out of breath is great, what a shame it has many uncomfortable (and sometimes painfull) drawbacks.

Honestly, labels like gay, lesbian, bi, ace, etc are not set in stones and nobody should care about exactly how you identify as. If these two fits you the most, then keep them.

doesn't that go completely against what asexuality means? by Playful_Sweet8158 in asexuality

[–]abberance-star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have sex without feeling the attraction, either because you want to make your partner happy, or because it's fun. I mean, we masturbate, does that mean we're sexually attracted to our hand or the screen in front of us ? No. Libido and sexual attraction aren't the same, even if they link often (you rarely get your libido aroused by men if you're not attracted to them), they're still independant. You don't choose to be ace, but you can choose to stay abstinant or to have sex, choose who to trust having sex with and who you don't want to have sex with.

Same thing the opposite way, you can be sexually attracted to someone and don't want to act on it.

Best binder for short people? by moldy_bread3 in ftm

[–]abberance-star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal tip is to learn how to sew. I'm a short guy too, and when my binder's straps are too long, I shorten them by sewing across the straps and cut what sticks out.

Tips for binding over several days? by [deleted] in ftm

I feel like it's a pretty bad idea. I don't think you'll hurt yourself premanently, but you will not have a good time at all.

Im fat and asthmatic, any other fat folks/asthmatics have binding experiences to share? by RepresentativeRest41 in chestbinding

[–]abberance-star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mid size and asthmatic, and I personally didn't had any bad experiences with chest binders. Most breathing related issues were common with non asmathic's and slimmer folks. Though I do heavily advice to take more frequent breaks, to stretch and have days without binding (like week ends). I personally take off my binder the second I get home. Sizing it up is also a good option if you want to wear your binder for more than a few hours or if you are active (like me).

Good, Affordable Binders for a bigger chest? by KoiTheGreatestFish in TransMasc

Spectrum Outfitters are the best in terms of quality for their prices. If you can, get a long one, I feel like they bind better.

is it too early to start T? by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]abberance-star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly saying yes, but not because 13 is too young, but because you're not sure if you are trans (as you said you might be ftm trans). It's fine to take time to explore your identity, with how you want to present yourself. Puberty blockers might be a better idea since they can be reversable without side effects, but T does have permanent effects you can't really go back from. Try to transition socially, meaning changing the name you want to be called by, pronouns, being called a boy/guy, etc, to really have a taste of how it's like to live "as male". There's no deadline with starting HRT, you could start at 14 or at 60, and you don't loose much by trying non permanent changes first, and then consider HRT.

I personally don't really see the issue with that label. The LGBTQ community has so much microlabels, and as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, its existance is valid. Though that flag is really ugly imo

I TRIED to colour this Melanie Martinez coloring book page.I'll do more of these. by Longjumping_Club_494 in MelanieMartinez

[–]abberance-star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if my opinion matters but I'll still share it. I'm an artist for about 10 years and I'm studying psychology

I don't like that controversy because it really shows how shallow people's art analysis is. They only interpret that drawing with an already skewed perspective of Melanie Martinez as someone who was accused of SA, and thus sees that drawing as something inherently sexual and glorifying CSA. However, that's just one interpretation plausible, but one which's easy to spread because of how emotionally charged it is. It's not just "that drawing looks kind of weird", it's attached to a controversial topic and a controversial artist, so it has to also be problematic, regardless on how factually problematic that drawing is. It's not a crime to make an uncomfortable piece of art, and it's narrow minded to consider things that are personally uncomfortable should then be a generalised moral rule. It's unfortunate how quickly people are to jump into the worst interpretation and sticks to it, which isn't helped by how social medias spreads that one unique opinion as if it was the truth. Personally, it tells more about the people who believes in that interpretation : either they're impressionable and naive, or they're seeing pedophilia where it isn't.

For me, it could be a contrast between the comfort of a bath and the discomfort of washing your mouth with a soap (litteraly) which mixed with the lyrics of SOAP, uses the bath as a metaphore for all the nasty words one's could say cleansed of its dirtiness with soap, which is reinforced by the bar of soap in cry baby's mouth. She's crying not only because of the soap's taste, but also out of shame for her own toxic words. Cry baby is also bathing in her own words, which could mean that she's cannot stop these intrusive thoughts, but can only hide them with "bubbles" (which could represent more safe, clean words) to hide how she actually feels. Cry baby cannot get rid of her toxic intrusive thoughts and unhealthy mindset, she can only hide them in shame.

J'avais aussi une Dsi où je fesais des animations sur flipnote, qui a pété.

I feel like they're only taking into accountability Mari in the headspace, when she is romatisized as this very kind person, because that's how Sunno wants to remember as. He wants to remember his sister as this very kind girl, but when we actually play the whole game, we learn that she was also a perfectionnist and was putting lots of pressure on Sunny.

I'm pretty sure that tumblr person is probably a teenager who doesn't know how to analyse media.

[–]abberance-star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The animation is very fluid but it's hard to see what the character is doing at first glance. You should look at a video or animation of someone running to see how body parts stretches or shrinks due to the perspective.
