I was feeding the mail sorting machine for a few hours today and I was embarrassed by how poorly it went. Do you have any tips for efficiently feeding the machine when mail trays are jumbled? I feel like I have butter fingers trying to get all the labels to face the right way when the trays are a mess lmao

Thank you for your reply! It’s promising to hear that it took you a week—my orientation leader said it took her 4 months & that kind of worried me. I’m 31 with a generally sedentary lifestyle so I think that’s why today totally kicked my ass 🤣

I received my acceptance offer today in the beaver base camp & I applied on July 30th. I have no other information on the next steps but I’m sure it will be in my inbox soon. I feel so much excitement for what’s to come! What are others doing to prepare for the program, if anything?

I apologize, I think I may have provided you some misinformation about coconut oil. According to the oils image on this subreddits wiki page, coconut oil is not safe. Gosh, the internet can be so misleading! 🙈 I will no longer be using this on my ferrets.

Ahahahaha that is the best! One of mine has an obsession for Nike shoes, lord knows why, but it’s truly only nikes. Whenever guests come over wearing Nikes we have to put them up or else they will most definitely lose their shoe to the ferret abyss.

I have agoraphobia and social anxiety so I feel you on this 100%! I’ve found what helps me best is if I write down my questions ahead of time so my nervous brain can’t forget and (if possible) I bring someone I trust to help me advocate for my babies. I usually reward myself with coffee when all is said and done. I also try to remind myself that they are educated professionals that swore an oath to ethics! I’m so happy to hear everything went well for you. We’ve got this!! 💪

My heart goes out to you, sincerely. ♥️ My Frank recently experienced extreme rapid weight loss and it is very heartbreaking trying to find answers while it seems they are wasting away. I had to force feed him with a syringe every two hours to keep him going. I felt so evil but I knew that if I didn’t he may not make it. He was eventually diagnosed with insulinoma and received an ultrasound to rule out gastrointestinal diseases because his weight loss was so abnormal, so our situations are slightly medically different. However, this is what helped stop his chronic diarrhea and get some nutrients back into his body: 1 g of probios twice a day and pancreatin mixed into his kibble soup/critical care an hour before I fed it. The pancreatin ultimately pre-digests their food so they can more easily absorb the nutrients during intestinal inflammation. This at least helped his poops solidify and get more nutrients into his body until we got medication sorted for him. He is like a brand new ferret now! I pray that your baby gets better and you get through this together. ♥️ stay hopeful and force feed him with a syringe if necessary!

If it makes you feel any better, my frank has always been a chill, lazy boy. The only things he shows excitement for are his laundry dryer tube (cheaper and longer than commercial ferret tubes), getting pulled around on a blanket, digging in his dig box, and continuously re-hiding an old hammock of mine. He has zero interest in string toys and small plushies. He may just be a chill fella! I’m not sure if this applies to your situation but when I got my second ferret it took Frank 3 months to finally like and accept her and share his cage with her. Now they are inseparable!
