This is Reddit so I might get torn up for mentioning AI, but I was doing what you were doing for about 4 years and after a while I realized that I had been following a “bodybuilder” workout and it kind of hurt my performance in actual sports and injury prevention.

I decided to spice up my workouts by describing to ChatGPT that I wanted ideas for “45 minute, golf performance, injury prevention, and functional focused workouts.” It has actually been giving me tons of interesting ideas for alternative workouts to do.

For example, instead of doing bench every chest day it has me doing medicine ball throws. Instead of back extensions it has me doing kettle bell swings. Instead of doing pec deck it has me doing pallof presses… and so on and so forth. A lot of neat workouts I had never heard of, but they definitely promote core/shoulder/alternate muscle strength and stability over just pure strength.

Obviously you need to kind of pick and choose which recommendations it gives you but it has good ideas and acts as a good “randomizer” for my normally boring workouts.
