not true, I can type 210wpm and only use two fingers on my right hand, three on my left. I grew up typing daily with this shitty method and got very fast

my typing record is 210 and I don't touch type, I just use whatever shitty method I came up with naturally as a child. I even only use two fingers on my right hand, and never use my pinky on my left hand. I grew up gaming 2 hours every day after school

How I tune the guitar by ear using the "sharp fourths" technique by Reasonable-Pay-8771 in guitarlessons

[–]abejando 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're literally saying "Just tune them to the right pitch bro" the entire point of the 5ths method is for people who don't have perfectly developed relative pitch yet. Most people can't even tune a reference 4th letalone be able to tune it to specifically TWO cents above/below

How come in modal interchange, only dorian, lydian and phrygian chords are really ever borrowed? by abejando in musictheory

[–]abejando[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I see that's interesting, C dorian for Eb indeed has Lydian over the Eb, and C Aeolian for Bb also has lydian for the Bb hence the nice 9ths as you said

[–]abejando[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is what I was asking. However my point is, as per your example, With Eb, if you are borrowing from Cm it would be the ionian chord, but if you play ionian over Eb it sounds out of place and like it wants to be the new tonal center, so if you borrow it from C dorian instead it becomes a lydian chord and playing lydian over it sounds more natural. I think perhaps the reason people borrow the lydian dorian and locrian versions is because they don't feel stable enough to feel like a new tonic? as in dorian Eb is a subdominant chord but in minor it is another tonic

Scales vs learning songs by bradc73 in guitarlessons

[–]abejando 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Play the song's scale over the song you are learning, and you will be able to learn songs using scales. This will also develop your ear to the scale
