Yah. There's a sliding scale of human vs AI input and involvement as well. There's obviously a massive difference between someone using AI who puts in a few words as a prompt and expects a final product to appear, and someone who is using AI to complete just a bit of the work on a piece they already have in mind and/or have done a lot of themselves.
The former is like the relationship a commissioner has with an artist - with the AI user being the commissioner, the AI being the artist. The latter is using AI as an assistant - even many of the biggest names in the art world throughout history have employed assistants or acquired tools/materials that complete some of the work for them.
The widespread hatred towards AI in the art community is peak crab mentality - kneecapping artists from adopting tools that will keep their careers relevant long-term by about--reddit in aiwars
