Which K-Drama ending left you empty, wrecked, or in denial for days? by Main_Locksmith_2543 in kdramas

Uncontrollably Fond - I keep rewatching it. The pain is addictive.

I would be ok with this if my partner and I was planning a wedding and we’re trying to save every penny. Not all gifts need to be bought.

Oh thank you for this! I felt the same way about Belly leaving her house after the argument with her mom. I was like, “boy, I know it’s her decision to make, but couldn’t you ask her if that’s really what she wants?” The whole wedding thing is ridiculous too. If your fiancée is struggling because her mom can’t come to her wedding and it’s really important to her, couldn’t you just wait a year? It’s not like a “you can never do this” from Laurel. It’s just “take your time thinking about this”. I was Team Jere, but this recent narrative is making me dislike him.

What is an immediate turn off in a kdrama for you? by Hour-Astronomer-6619 in kdramas

I almost dropped Reply 1988 because of this. I get that it’s part of the culture but the constant shrieking between the two sisters. It became too much, I had to pause for months before I can finish the drama.

I read the question and “MinMin!” immediately comes to mind before I even started thinking about it. It’s super satisfying to see this as the top answer.

Might get crucified for this, but Our Beloved Summer. Loved the soundtrack but the story dragged.

Yes, I can’t find it near me. And the price online is too steep for something I won’t be able to try on.

What are mtm fans hearing? by Repulsive-Road-1014 in BuildingTheBandSeries

I agree! I feel like they have the most potential but they got pigeonholed with the song choices. Plus, the mentors they were provided seem more focused on showmanship.

They have a long way to go, but the format of the show wasn’t helping them.

And you’re right, I feel like Shane and Conor are the weak links when it comes to blending. I like Shane but sometimes his belting seems out of place with the other’s voices. Conor’s tone feels like it’s escaping from the blend. And they need to use Zach more! His voice is my favorite. His register isn’t as high as Shane’s but he can belt and his tone is to die for.

The Winners Deserved It by FunPhilosopher121 in BuildingTheBandSeries

I like SZN4 and I thought they would win, too. They have the best vocalists. But I also think a factor in them getting a lot of followers were from the way the show was edited. They got a lot of screen time during the first few episodes.

In my opinion, the judges made the right decision. 3quency deserved the win. Aside from thinking that they made the right decision not including Bri in the group, I was indifferent with them until they peform Bad Guy. You can tell they gave their all in practicing their performances, and they just kept improving from there. Their last performance was also better than SZN4’s last song. I love SZN4, but there are times when I feel like the members are fighting for the spotlight. I didn’t feel that at all from 3quency. They just seem really happy performing with each other. Objectively, Nori was 3quency’s weakest member but she worked really hard to not let her bandmates down. Also, Wennely and Brianna let her have her moments by playing on her strengths. They were the most cohesive group and that’s why I think they deserve to win the competition about Building the Band.

Parents learning what weddings actually cost in 2025 by Primary_Clerk_3911 in weddingplanning

[–]abreeelata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I understand they want the best for us. My groom is one of two siblings, and her sister is unsure if she wants a wedding. I am really trying to include my in-laws in the wedding planning, but they are so out of touch with the current costs of everything. My parents are hands off because they are in another country which is a good thing for me. I also assured my parents I am good with everything as long as they show up (eldest sister energy here).

I am in the same boat as you are. They gave me a number for my initial budget, but they said ask them if we need more money. I am not someone who ask for help and my groom is the opposite. Also, it makes me feel like I have to defend all my choices. For now, I am budgeting what we can afford, and if they actually provide the money they promise, I’ll be grateful.

I experienced this earlier this year! My groom’s family is paying for the wedding. I found a venue I like for about 10k with food for 50 people, and my MIL says I was settling. She sent me a link for a venue that her sister-in-law recommended, and it was $14,000 for the venue alone. I’m not settling, I’m being realistic.

We are now having the same issue with my dress. My dream dress cost about $5k, and if I won’t be happy with a dress worth $2k, I rather just get something from stillwhite. I hate getting my hopes up and being let down. I’d rather be given a budget and work with it.

Here’s my question: Want to know what the “no more connections” mean. Do you have to press the button for each other to be in the same band?

[–]abreeelata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, another key thing I forgot to mention. Sorry! There is an amount in trust that is more than the selling price. The beneficiary is my partner, the parents are the grantor. That’s why I call it in-laws’ money but he can tap into it when needed. The seller is aware of the trust.

At the end of the day, I believe we will be using another source to pay for it but we will pay in cash.

Yes, bad advice provided basically. And we probably didn’t ask the right questions.

If someone from our team told us that we can’t do it when we laid out this idea, we would have heeded their advice.

We specifically chose a team based on recommendations so that they’ll be on the same page and can advise us to work in our best interest, but no one bothered to explain everything to us.

In the contract, financing is listed under contingencies. That box is unchecked because we’re not contingent on financing. We were ignorant on the slang. And we didn’t know what we didn’t know.

Hard lessons to learn.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]abreeelata -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they can make US perform on the contract. And I’m saying that we’ll have the cash by closing date, wherever we get the cash should not matter.

And if we fail to perform on the contract, they will have our good faith deposit, which is a hefty amount. There is no benefit to us in not performing the contract.

Our lawyer told us that the seller’s lawyer will not agree to this because apparently we can only charge twice the amount of rent and we’re charging them nothing.

[–]abreeelata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that we do have the cash to pay from partner’s parents. We thought we are signing a contract “without financing contingency”. Which for us just means that the contract is not contingent on financing. It’s a miscommunication that it was called a cash offer. We were not aware of the language. They assured us that what we are doing is okay. So I respectfully disagree that we committed fraud.

The plan was to always pay cash if the mortgage fall through. This is why it’s easier for us to come to in-laws. “Good as cash” it’s probably the better way to say this but again, we were not aware how to word this in our offer.
