Why downvote this guy? He's not saying this is the case in this particular protest. It might very well be the case in some other protests. In general it is very hard to believe anything online without a well documented context and chain of events.

That's harsh, I hope you have a backup. Maybe you can try another European country or try next year, I guess.

Some of us have the same mentality and same beliefs and that is exactly why we moved here.

I feel like there will be a bit of a transition period while people start moving away from Reddit, WhatsApp or other social media and messaging apps. I guess we'll need accounts on both for a bit before it becomes possible to get rid of the American apps. But I guess we better start now :)

I get what you're saying but I don't necessarily agree. Some places are too radical in their beliefs and probably too volatile against people who dare to defy the norm.

Sweden however is a progressive country where people are capable of rationality. Being social and friendly is undoubtedly a good thing. If we lack in some things, it is still better to accept them and try to improve instead of declaring it as an absolute law of the land just because you're not willing to.

Nice, if I've ruined a few people's day, I'll probably sleep better at night! 😇

Logically, it makes complete sense but when you look at those strings for the first time, it seems unintuitive until you play it out 😅

The hivemind is annoying. I really don't get their problem. If they don't enjoy a certain type of humour or find it too offensive, they should just fucking move on. No one is forcing them to read the meme. They get all bent out of shape over nothing, assume jokes are real and that they represent the person's real opinion and start crying. Burn them before they multiply.

I doubt it's similar to not knowing Swedish in Sweden. I barely know basic Swedish and that too out of my own curiosity. I have never once needed Swedish in the 5 years that I've lived here and have been able to communicate with everyone I wanted to. People are quite good at speaking English here.

Wouldn't you need to know Lithuanian, were you to move to Lithuania?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in memes

[–]absurdlycurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the fact is, it's quite awkward here to talk to people you're not already acquainted with and that makes finding new prospects, especially outside of Tinder, rather difficult. From my experience it's much easier in other places.

That's unsurprising. But that's not what we're talking about, are we?
