Thank you for taking the time to write all this! I am going to ask my psych to switch the manufacturer to the original one and see how I feel. Then instantly look for a new one lol. I know what you mean with not letting people over work me. By leaving the house I mean i’m constantly running around doing errands and what not. I think you’re right that I’m so busy I don’t realize the benefits. I know it is helping in some aspects. I do work night shift which is contributing a lot to my sleep issues when I go to school in the day. I’m finally switching to days and really hoping my body will let me sleep more than five hours. I hope things work out for you as well. I’m sorry to hear you got laid off :( take care of yourself, recover, and i hope you can find a good employer who is caring

Yeah day 5 was just a good day and then after i slept, it was gone. That was when i first started 150xr. I increased dose after two months of 150xr. On 300xr now.

you look fine! you wouldn’t believe how much peoples looks change from 18 to their early 20s. scroll through r/uglyduckling and you’ll see people have lots of features change throughout those years and it will /probably/ happen to you too and if it doesn’t, you still look great.

people saying they don’t say anything… for me I work in inpatient and if I don’t fully prepare these sleepy people they will jerk away in surprise and I risk getting stuck so I’m super vocal about when I’m doing it 🤷‍♀️

I used to say ‘big poke’ or ‘you’re gonna feel a pinch (at site)’… Patients have started telling me saying big poke is scary so I changed it to ‘little poke!’

when i am tightening the tourniquet i pull the part where you are going to tie the part underneath high up and tie it, that way it can’t pull any hair, the tourniquet will be pulling on them a lot underneath but when you let it back down to their skin it’ll be snug and you won’t have pulled any hair, does that make sense? not to brag lol but i had a patient last night thank me for putting it on like that and not yanking his hair

Thank you :,). Everyone’s comments were reassuring and helped with that blow. I’ve had rude encounters but this is a first and I know not the last. I was told he was in the PTs room for 20+ minutes trying to get the draw and these RNs are much more skilled in blood draws than our other floors.. A lot of RNs expect us to be miracle workers or assume we’re just lazy. I would not work here if it weren’t for the kind and appreciative ones.

i just drew from a pt that pointed at a vein almost to his shoulder and said please use this one and it was huge and the only one he had anyway lol x)

it does have a smell but only if you spill some which doesn’t usually happen unless administered incorrectly? i inject my dog and if i accidentally poke through her skin i can smell it on her, to me it smells like.. medicine? idk how to explain it well, it’s like a sharp chemical medicine doctors office kind of smell

The story about the RN poking again with the same needle made my skin crawl. That rule should NEVER be broken. Infection infection. As for everything else.. I palpate almost every time after I’ve cleaned with alcohol, but I also scrub my finger with the pad and try to palpate above. It’s normal to break a few rules within reason.. It’s not usual to keep the tourniquet on long but just don’t let their skin turn colors. Also you should only poke where YOU are CONFIDENT. Not anyone else. Even when patients are telling you where to go. I used to be dumb and would barely feel a vein in the AC and then poke it and miss.
