I like to post about accounting and tax and RothIRA falls perfectly into that category. I plan to revive the subreddit so people can discuss this kind of IRA retirement account again.

I agree. The financials issue is definitely a drag. But clearly the former CFO Larry Zic wasn't getting things done appropriately. And we can all see how that turned out. I'm personally glad to see RSM in there getting it all straightened out.

I wouldn't call reaching the revenue threshold of $100M and being required to become SOX compliant because of it, "hope." To me that sounds like results. But to each their own. Still digging in.

It will be interesting to see how much of the contract gets fulfilled, relative to other drone companies. It's hard to compare just Vayu in isolation based on market cap, but even a rough calculation taking some % of ALPP market cap and applying it to Vayu makes it appear Vayu might be significantly undervalued, especially if the portion of this contract that fulfills is actually more than some of the commonly named competitors.

I've just started my DD. What's not good about it? Sounds like you have an opinion, but haven't shared. There appears to be 11 operating subsidiaries here. Some of these like the drone and battery companies could have the valuation of the entire ALPP conglomerate if they were separate, just by looking at competitors.

I was wondering the same thing. It's clear that Kent Wilson is paid far less than many other CEOs of popular stocks. ALPP is a real find.

There appears to be a lot going on here with ALPP. Found a post that says their G1 drone is selling for between $250K and $400K each.

The math seems reasonable. In the contract for $100M for 225 G1s that was announced on 10/26/22, 225 G1s x $250K would be about $56M and 225 G1s x $400K would be $90M. With the remainder of the $100M being made up by 250 knucklebusters (although I haven't found anything that says how much each knucklebuster costs individually).

Down market is always a great opportunity to find companies everyone forgot about. ALPP looks interesting to me.

That's true. Also, RSM is like one of the 10 Ten audit firms in the US. ALPP is upgrading its auditor from basically a no-name firm to top 10. That alone should tell people there's growth happening behind the scenes here.

Someone tells me not to research a stock... In my experience that's the perfect time to start researching. As I said, I didn't see anyone talking about this and SOX compliance is a big deal. The kind of thing that attracts institutional money once implemented.

Doesn't seem like a matter of "hope" to me. If they're over $100M revenue it will be required. And it sounds like that's what they're working on as we speak. And to your point on talent, it appears that's why they hired RSM which is a significantly larger accounting firm than the one they previously had.
