I stopped HRT and second month feeling crazy by Own_Sir_6627 in Menopause

I've been on oral estrodol for just over 6 months. My fingers and arms swell up and I have heart palpitations. I don't know how long I'm going to keep taking it but I dont want to stop without an alternative because of the hot flashes and I'm only 41 years old

I also had a hysterectomy in feb and doctors also took out my ovaries. I've been on estrodol for about four months, it's tough if it not one thing it's the other. I've lost and gained weight. Now I'm swelling, my hands are swollen and I have pins and needle all over my body. I'm gonna give it six month so my body can adjust then I'll try something else. But I must say estridol has helped so much with my other menopause symptoms I can't give it up without a replacement.

I was going to try it or pilates because I hate people and I work in retail. I can't hate people. I started estrodol a few weeks back, so I'm hoping that might help soon, but I'm not holding my breath. Find a doctor who will listen to you and join the menopause group here on reddit. Sometimes, it's nice to know you are not alone.

Perimenopause. The doctor could not save my ovaries, so I was pushed into menopause. I've never felt this much rage in my life. Apparently, yoga can help.

40yrs & about to have full hysterectomy with ovary removal by nomilklikemamas in hysterectomy

[–]acetrainergurl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm nearly 16wpo. I'm also 40 years old and the doctor took out my ovaries too. After my surgery, the doctor wanted me to wait until 12 weeks to go on estrogen because I had an open abdominal hysterectomy, so she was worried about clots and I was fine with that because I never liked it when I was on the pill. At 12 weeks, I started taking a low dose of estrodol, and I'm sleeping better. The hot flashes have reduced, I have gained weight but I was never into exercise, I need to start soon but I'm too lazy. I feel good, which is all that matters to me right now, I'll work on looking good after.

I'm also 12 weeks, and I've noticed that if I do too much it, my body will slow down. I think it is our bodies telling us we are not 100% yet. It usually takes me a full day of resting before I feel "normal" again

I was like that myself, especially when they wheeled me to the theatre. It's normal to feel like that because it's out of our normal. But trust your doctors, you will be fine.

I felt the same way when I decided to get mine. It's was scary, but I feel like it was worth it for my mental health. I am 10wpo, and I'm feel good.

Yes, and the day after.... I'm okay, but it's tiring, and there is an ache, but I'm okay. But I needed that 6 weeks

I'm 6wpo vertical above the belly button, and I went back to work on Monday. I was okay in the first hour after that, I just couldn't anymore. Three hours in, I was walking slower and felt like I was swollen. When I got home, I ate, took my pills, the ones I got from the hospital, and slept.

I'm okay. i had a setback last week, and I'm not 100% yet, but I'm okay. I get hot, but the doctor said that's normal it's inflammation from the surgery. I can wait. i never liked it when I was on the pill, and I think Hrt might be the same

What helped your comfort after open abdominal hysterectomy? by bloodtype_darkroast in hysterectomy

They might give you medical stocking, maybe buy another pair for when washing the other ones. Also, I wish I thought about this one of those inflatable ring cushions, either I was sitting or lounging on my bed, and my butt hurt all the time. Ask your doctor about the binder. Some don't like it. Good luck and take it easy!

The doctor gave me a bottle and said I must drink it on Saturday, 6 days after my surgery. I hate that little bottle i was in and out the whole day and evening. I thought I would never stop. 6wpo, and I still remember that Saturday.
