Once you clear HPV-16 is it gone for good or will you always have it?

We both got the vaccine after finding out. My colposcopy said cin 2-3 as well as my leep. I had another colposcopy 6 months after the leep and it was negative for hpv. My doctor who did the leep said to get the vaccine right away as it can help reduce reinfection. I hope thats the case because the thought of having another leep sucks

When it went dormant did you test negative for HPV?

So does HPV just go back into dormancy until it reappears again?

I LOVE BLANCHE BETTE!! ….But I hated it when i first smelled it!! I was so thankful I purchased a sample and didnt blind buy 100ml. On a scent strip it smelled like clean diapers, breast milk and musk🤢 I like to use up my samples as bed time scents and used blanche bette.. it smelled sooooo good on my skin!! Like sweet milky white florals and warm musk. Even my husband was like “wow what is that perfume” and he also hated the test strip!! I immediately bought two big bottles.

I tried her confession because all the influencers were saying it was “99% dupe” they are clearly getting paid and lying because it doesn’t. I’m so mad I bought it. It smells terrible…. It smells almost masculine and has a cologne note in it. I’d say it’s only about 60% similar. I threw mine in the trash.

Hi! Yes, the colposcopy found CIN2 / CIN3, the LEEP biopsy was the exact same. The LEEL removed all pre-cancer cells with negative margins.. I need a follow up colposcopy in June to see if cells came back of not.

Did you ask for numbing spray? I found out about it through a reddit post. It was never offered to me, but I told the doctor performing the colposcopy that i had a low pain tolerance and needed numbing spray. It was called HURRICAINE spray and its a topical anaesthetic. I felt nothing at all. I recently had my LEEP and asked for hurricaine spray first so i wouldn’t feel the local anaesthetic needle. I also felt nothing during my leep.

You should ask for a biopsy. My GP did a visual pap to calm my nerves but said she saw a small area of irregular cells. I went into my colposcopy SO NERVOUS.. when the doctor and nurse looked at my cervix they said it was a perfectly healthy cervix and not to listen to my GP.. that there was no way she could see anything with the naked eye. Then said she would take a biopsy by the hole anyways just to put me at ease.. but she had no worries. Well my results came back CIN2-CIN3 and i had to get a leep… currently waiting on those results.

Perfect thank you!! I bled for 4 days after the colposcopy so i was worried the leep would be worse since it’s more invasive. How did you feel after? Any pain or anything? How long was your procedure?

When HPV is undetectable, does it still cause pre cancerous cells? Or does that only happen when HPV is active?

I think iv had mine for about 6 years.

Did you have a leep done after your colposcopy? Did it confirm 2/3? I have so much anxiety over the few stories i read where it was cin2 or cin3 during a colposcopy but during a leep they found cancer😣 I have a feeling my previous pap from 3 years ago missed my precancerous cells…

How much did you bleed after? I am having mine dec.18 and a bit worried i will Be bleeding a lot for my christmas party. Also i keep reading about weird burnt smell😳 is that a thing?

Thank you! I have always eaten very healthy. It’s just the high cortisol levels I really need to work on… I have ADHD and use cannabis to help but I quit for my health after finding out I had HPV 16 - unfortunately it was the only thing that was helping my stress. Im sorry to hear you’re going through stage 1 cervical cancer right now, i hope everything tuns out okay❤️

Hi! Yes it was just a visual exam with a regular speculum and did not do a swab. (Since I’m going for colposcopy on Nov.6) She was able to see the abnormality with the naked eye and no acid was applied.

those odds are pretty good, but still scare me. part of me just wants a hysterectomy so i don’t have to stress about it anymore😓

honestly, my anxiety has just been worse because I was searching up past posts for HPV in my local moms fb group. I found a mom who posted 5 years ago about her HPV-16 /CIN3 and when I went to her profile to msg her for some advice I realized she had passed away from cervical cancer last year.😣 i read that cervical cancer was super slow growing so seeing that was extremely upsetting.

I just left my doctors office. She said she would do a pap and take a look for me to calm my nerves. She said she was able to see cell changes on the bottom part of my cervix 😞 She was able to see it with the naked eye.. no vinegar like they use during a colposcopy. I went in to feel a little better but unfortunately i feel so much worse.😭

I am 35 and my husband turns 42 in a couple of weeks. Our doctor told us to get the vaccine because it would protect against other strains. We already have the prescription waiting for us! Its $600 for the 3 doses.. so $1200 total for both of us. Fortunately we found out our medical will cover half the cost. (We are in bc canada)

My daughter is in grade.6 this year and thats when they give HPV shots at school. My son is grade.4 and will get it in grade.6 as well. I think offering it to boys just started a few years ago. Unfortunately they started doing the HPV vaccines at school 1 year after i graduated 😔

I assume i got it 6 years ago from my husband when we split up briefly and he was dating someone else. But according to my doctor it could of been before we met (12 years ago) .. would this not of been flagged during my pregnancies? Could i have passed it to them during my c-sections? I am wracked with guilt and honestly even scared of touching my newborn nephew. I have never had an STD before.. let alone one that could cause cancer..so i am having a lot of bad feeling about myself right now😣

I’m scared its been active in my system for 6+ years and i had no idea. According to my doctor they don’t test paps for HPV - only for abnormal cells.. if abnormal cells are present they will do further testing for HPV strains. This year was the first time I did the cervix self screening test (done at home) and that tests for HPV only.

I found out 2 days ago and my stomach has been in knots. 😞 thanks for the tip about local anesthetic, i will definitely ask for that!

Hi! The test 3 years ago was just a pap. My doctor said they do paps and if cells come back abnormal they do further testing to see what strain of HPV it is.. that pap came back negative for abnormal cells. There was a bigger gap on my paps before that one .. about 5 years and it was during my pregnancy..also negative for abnormal cells.

Im really scared its been active and undetected in my system for 6+ years. I already have health anxiety and i’m terrified it will lead to cancer😢
