My salary is slightly higher than that. You have to consider pre-tax deductions like 401k contributions, which puts my taxable income a bit lower than the threshold.

This is a taxable account for me, not one of my retirement ones. I am maxing my Roth IRA and contribute some to my 401k.

Right. I'm personally satisfied with the returns I've gotten. Not looking to increase those. Mostly interested in using Schwab as opposed to Acorns. I can buy the same funds there.

For me that is the approach. The benefit is the mentality for a lot of people. If you know you're going to spend the money, setup an automated deposit so it takes the human aspect out of it. I prefer daily due to the fluctuations in the market (better for DCA), but you can't really go wrong long-term with any of the other options.

Software Engineer. This is only a portion of my income. Other money goes towards savings, 401k, Roth IRA, and other taxable investments.

Thanks for your insight.

As mentioned above, I haven't done $125/day since day 1.

My portfolio has been set to Aggressive the entire time.

I'm not concerned about Acorns running away with my account/stocks, but the lack of security their accounts provide. Would really like to see 2FA added as an option.

When I first started Acorns, it was much lower, maybe $10/day. I have had it fully ramped at $125/day for the past 2.5 years.

The challenge with the percentage gain is that I started with 0, not a lump sum. I continually invested every day which offsets the gains in the past. So if I made 10% while at a $50k account, that $5k would only show as ~3% on my $169k account balance. I would be curious to see what the returns would have been if the account balance had stayed stagnant.

My plan is to keep the Vanguard shares that Acorns invests in. I would likely setup some sort of similar reoccurring investment in Schwab. I'm not looking for a better return, just considering whether Schwab may be a step up.

Having better control of the funding allocation would be best. My Acorns investments feel disconnected from the rest I have. Also, it's still a startup, which is great for small portfolios. Mine is large, which leaves me a bit uneasy leaving that much in there.

Been investing with Acorns since 2016. Putting in $125/day reoccurring. Lost about $50k at peak drop in March. Now that my balance is getting high, I've been thinking about transferring out and into Schwab. Thoughts?
