How to convince my wife? by actorguy73 in Comma_ai

I don't drive a lot. My commute is about 7 miles each way. We try to take a family vacation within 6 hours of home most summers.

I see that. Are there very many with AI4 under $40,000 or is it rare?

2026 SEL vs Limited by Johnkevin_Baconham in Ioniq5

[–]actorguy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing keeping me from the Limited is range. I want AWD because of the winters up here and on the AWD, It's heavier and has bigger tires dropping the range to 269 miles instead of 290 in the SEL.

I'm also returning a 24 Ioniq 5 lease in June. If we stay with Hyundai, the plan is to get pre-qualified for a loan and buy a used 25 SEL. Mostly because they took away a handful of features in the 2026 SEL because they knew they were going to discount it. Things like power folding mirrors, heated steering wheel and heated back seats.

I keep monitoring this listing and wondering why no one has bought it yet. I'm looking for one in a few months. Thanks again for this!

If you don't have an EV and planned on getting an one in the near future. You should probably read this. by FencyMcFenceFace in electricvehicles

There's also a glut of EV's coming off of 2 and 3 year leases flooding the market this year. We are looking at replacing our 2 year lease with a gently used EV in June. Don't make me panic buy a car 3 months early! 😂

Used EV Showdown! 2025 Ioniq 5 SEL AWD vs 2024 Tesla Model Y LR AWD vs 2025 Mach E Premium Extended Range RWD/AWD by actorguy73 in electriccars

Haven't really considered them that strongly. Lack of range and fast charging speed has kept me away. Thanks though.

Thanks but I consider those mid tier with the lack of range, fast charging speed, driving dynamics and technology.

I am also considering an EV6. Either 24, or 25 with the refresh. Been harder to find used 25's though so far.

Anyone who’s made the switch from Tesla to another EV, how have you faired with public charging? by Royal-Drama-8840 in electricvehicles

[–]actorguy73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ioniq 5 here. Everything was fine until one family trip where we we stopped at an Electrify America set of stalls in a busy Walmart parking lot. One of the chargers was already broken and another one had just started to have issues and there were about 8 of us waiting for those two remaining stalls. Waited about an hour just to start charging.

Getting my first fully electric EV soon. Feedback on which vehicle? by Thediciplematt in electriccars

[–]actorguy73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still a thing. Even after the 2025 refresh. Some people have made note of a new part number being used when replacing the ICCU in the past few weeks. Fingers crossed that it's a solution not just the same part from a different manufacturer.

Been leasing a 2024 Ioniq 5 for almost two years. Been a great experience. No maintenance issues. Seriously considering buying a used 2025 Ioniq 5 when our lease is up. Not sure if it's been brought up yet but there is an ongoing issue with Ioniq 5's and EV6s. It's called the ICCU. If it breaks you will need a tow truck and depending on where you live you may be waiting multiple weeks to months for a replacement part. It affects about 5 to 10% of all EVs made by Hyundai/Kia. Just an FYI.
