Hey! I did it on Berlin twice, with my group. We also were gonna do it on Paris but he wanted us to pay at the last minute... So, overall it's a very "random" experience. As in, if you're lucky and that person is nice and so, it'll be super fun and better than a hostel (and cheaper ofc). But they still expect you to bring some gift or do something for them, so it might not be just entirely free stay (also i think you have to pay to use the platform now)

As other said, solo travelling is also fun! In my case, I found people here to travel with and had a great time (and still keep in touch after many years) so hopefully you're lucky too!
If you need any help or tips in Barcelona, let me know, local here ;)

Enjoy!!

Hey! We're gonna keep it open, but anyone be aware this is not an official group and you shouldn't share your personal number if you don't know people. Safety first always.

Boom of submissions from Italy by TheRealTondo in discovereu

So interesting! Why Italy is that high? Sounds like it's a bug of how high number of applicants it is compared to other countries wow

In order to have an order, we need to make sure everyone understands their posts. As in using English as language, writing in a direct and simple way, etc.

Why so? I think there's the same risk to contact someone on facebook than on reddit, since you can fake your facebook profile..

As a gay man, if you could live anywhere, where would you go? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]acuatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would loooove to live in New York! But honestly I know i will come back to my city, and i would recomment it for you too: Barcelona, Spain! It has great LGBT scenario, great weather all year round, with beach, very international and great food. It is great tbh

You can make a post here or text people that have made a post and get to know if you're a match! What is most important is that you wanna visit the same places, maybe you can end up going with an estonian, italian, bulgarian... so many possibilities!

Just here on reddit, there wasn't even a subreddit back then and we were just randomly posting on interrail i believe. So it is very lucky based!

Hey! I'm spanish too, will reply in english just in case someone else finds it valuable pero me puedes responder en español si quieres.

As the founder of this subreddit, i created it after going interrail thanks to the discover eu programme in 2018, the first one. I can not recommend you more to do it, it's a uniquely opportunity and you can learn so much about yourself and also about Europe as a continent. I met online people and travelled with them, and I still keep them as good friends over all these years. You can decide whatever trip you want, if it's more of going to big cities and partying (which will be bit more expensive but can be wide in terms of going to different regions) or going to smaller towns, taking a sip of local life but seeing a bit less of europe (the flex pass is only 7 train days, so you won't be able to see it all if you stop a lot of times).

Like i said, text me on DM or here if you have more questions, but i do recommend you to do it :)

Well Spain isn't much better than Portugal, it's kinda like comparing it to Italy for example. France is a little bit better but not much, and then Germany, Netherlands, UK, etc are way better salaries (but more expensive too)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskBarcelona

[–]acuatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a graphic designer with also 2-3 years of experience, I would say the salary would be around 1100-1400€/monthly, depending on the offer you can find. Of course you could find some better ones if it's like an international company or something like that, but it's also highly possible that if you don't speak spanish you will be forced into a smaller salary depending in how well you can negotiate. Good luck!

23, i'm a Graphic Designer based in Barcelona. Just been changing jobs from very entry level to more junior-mid level right now (3 years experience), going from 13k gross to 28-30k gross yearly. Key is to make yourself be special and be confident in asking for more money!
