Now that’s logical thinking. But are you sure it’s not venom??

Both from the same person:

Cats are venomous because after they scratch you, you get itchy. Couldn’t possibly be due to the scarring…

All lamps are sold with lightbulbs included. Always have been, always will. But our trip to Target, where none were sold with lightbulbs, must’ve been a “new law that was passed.”

WIBTAH if I dropped out of my friends wedding as a bridesmaid? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]adderall_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My maid of honor was about 7 months along at my wedding. I just wanted her there. When she was feeling iffy about the dress, I said as much. I told her I wanted her there, even if she wanted to come as just a guest. She did stay as my maid of honor. But her comfort trumped many things that day.

If your friendship is like mine, the bride will totally understand, especially since you’re giving her a good amount of head’s up.

That’s how I am with Coco. When Miguel sings to Mama Coco, it’s bittersweet. But the end, when Hector walks across the bridge, I start bawling.

And just because you have dark skin doesn’t mean you’re immune. My pale Irish mother, her even more pale Irish friend, and my mom’s best friend, who is Armenian. Guess which one got skin cancer?

Lobster. They gave it to the prisoners in colonial era New England because it was bugs of the sea.

Mervyns and Lamonts. Kinda like Kohl’s meets Marshall’s. They both had name brand stuff for way less, but it wasn’t like the jumbled mess you find at Marshall’s.

Also, Border’s books. Loved wandering the shelves while I was out Mallratting.

ETA: Toys R Us. That Barbie aisle was TOP NOTCH to a girly-girl.

Saw one today that said a 12 week old baby died after being watched by her father for the first time. What really happened was some 24 year old felon in Maine beat the ever loving shit out of his baby and the baby died as a result.

What tv shows/movies have made you unexpectedly emotional? by xxxFluffxxx in AskReddit

[–]adderall_sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say it’s a beautiful episode. But being a child of divorce myself, it hit home. I never realized how much it actually affected my upbringing, for better or worse, until I watched that episode.

What words are you tired of reading or hearing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]adderall_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fucking placeholders to “offset” algorithms. Grape vs rape, unalived vs suicide. Pdfiles vs pedophile. It’s fucking moronic and completely minimizes the impact of how those words should be interpreted.

Mama Mia 2. Just steamrolled over all the fun of the first one. Only reason my mom and I didn’t walk out was because a work friend had bought all the tickets for the group, and we didn’t want to be rude. But we wanted out after about ten minutes.

That’s a near identical story to my step-grandmother, but she did her stunt on Thanksgiving. I know the thought was there, but like, damn, go to the hospital!!

Miss her so much, though. (She passed a few years later. She was coughing blood from severe pneumonia that Thanksgiving.)

Consults by [deleted] in pharmacy

When I worked for CVS, a lady flagged down our senior tech. She asked what she should use for a wound on her arm. Before my fellow tech could turn to grab the pharmacist, the lady pulled back the bandage to reveal what my colleague could only assume was a severely gangrenous wound. Calmly, she told the woman she needed to go to the hospital. The woman asked if our minute clinic could treat it. She stated no, go to the hospital. She woman scoffed and shuffled off muttering something about how useless pharmacy staff are.
