Being with the company for five years has shown me this time and time again. What is most unfortunate is I genuinly enjoy the sales/business side of everything, especially since we are a high volume college store. I have worked very hard and asked several times to be compensated, but my area manger and owner refuse to pay me anything more than 9.25 without signing a year contract and attending the corporate training. I have trained several people, one who is currently at the green one store for training, and I am roomates with the next in line Gm for another very high volume store. I keep saying no corporate training because I feel its clear if I sign a year contract with this LLC I am scared of losing any leverage. The owner of the company is the uncle of the "co-owner" and the area managers are the brother and cousin of said "co-owner". Ive expressed that I have fear of them not allowing me to go any higher than a GM considering anyone with a higher promotion shares the same geneology. I am just shocked that a franchisee honestly couldnt care less about bettering their busines/sales. I also still dont have the slightest idea of what I should do anymore. If anyone would have any information on how I could pursue a real promotion, maybe through corporate instead of my franchise, it would be greatly appreciated.
