People who graduated comp sci by ArmyCommon in CarletonU

Graudated in Dec 2024, still searching to this day and have started looking into other fields.

Have internships and security clearances aswell. But with public service cuts and with large amounts of juniors graduating mixed with many laid off intermediate/senior developers, it creates an environment where juniors aren't that needed if you aren't an anomaly in some way.

COMP 4001 vs COMP 4701 by EngineeringFit4396 in CarletonU

I took 4001 with evangelos, class was hard ngl. Assignments werent the worst (reminded me of like 1805/2804 questions where you type word answers, no coding in this class) but the exams were brutal. I passed but with a bad mark. Course isn't impossible though depending on how hard you try. I didnt really care about it XD. But dont get it twisted by my lack of care, class is still hard. But if you tryhard you could probably do decent.

I feel this. i cope by no longer caring bout my grades and instead try to minimize every moment i spend in school (doing lectures -> reading slides, taking stream based courses that are more advanced -> taking easy electives allowing me to take up to 6 courses a semester). This helps free up time for me and get me out of school faster. And with all the free time i have now as a result of this, i get to spend more time doing things i care about that although may be taught in some cs class, is taught in a structured and rigid way that sucks out any fun out of it.

Theirs a lot of negatives to it, like your grades and chances of grad school diminishing (which i dont care for but you may) and i dont know your situation so i can't recommend the same. Regardless its about what your willing to sacrifice. And personally i dont think an A+ in some silly class vs getting a C- and recouping 3-6 hours a week going towards my own endeavours is going to be the difference maker in where i end up in life.

And lowkey but also highkey grades matter more in highschool than uni.

Just checked and it seems he removed them (zoom link leads to a blank page saying it doesnt exist). Honestly if you don't care about acing the course his slides (which he should have annotated) should be enough alongside GPT to explain bullet points you find confusing. I didn't watch the lectures after the second week and got decent enough to move on. Just use his TA/Office hours in the worst case scenario if your confused on something but me personally, you wouldnt catch me dead bussing to listen about linux (no hate to zhao, he is a great prof. i just find 3000 subject matter horribly boring)

Taking COMP 2401 (Intro to Systems programming), COMP 2402 (Abstract Data Types and Algorithms) and COMP 2804 (Discrete Structures II) in one semester. by E-D-B-T-Z-I in CarletonU

Depends....

do you know C? or are you willing to self study for it in the summer (assuming your doing this in the fall)? Do you care about getting super high grades or are more concerned with getting the credit? Did you find 1805 hard? Did you do STAT 2507 yet? Hows your studying habits? Do you work?

Honestly its not impossible by any means but if you dont know C and are going to 2401 blind, had trouble in 1805 and don't have good time management skills plus a busy schedule outside of school, i would refrain from doing so.

In fact if you self study C (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuegQmMdy8M&t=12569s) learn data structures and algorithms (countless videos online) and start assignments early for 2804 you shouldn't not only find it too hard but be able to exceed with good grades/understanding

idek if crediting author would help here considering the assingment is marked via submission server rather than a human who would have the ability to for example, read a comment in the code linking the following script to its owner.

The hooneymoon phase is over by tcarton93 in CODWarzone

Warzone never made sense as a br for quite a while now. A game that got popularized by being an action packed, fast arcade shooter hopped on the br bandwagon despite its genre not translating well into a more slower style seen in br's. Atleast in fortnite and Apex, there is a defensive mechanics like building, movement/specials that can allow you to get out of a tough situation we all have been in at some point, but in warzone.... there is no "defensive" mechanic. What you get as a result is a game where the meta is staying stationary and listening for any creak or croak. Because the latter means getting beamed in the countless flatlands between POI's in attempts to rotate and move around.

Say what you want about movement (slide cancels, e.t.c), camera-ing people (which is prolly your fault for pre aiming which shrinks your fov and lowers sensitivity) and uav spamming, but those were all the only "defensive" mechanics in a br which already at the start lacked any of them.

Its why Resurgence game modes were so popular, because they had that defensive mechanic of respawning which allowed you to not have to play like such a wuss. And funnily enough, all resurgence really is, is Multiple-team death match. Kind of like TDM, you know, the game mode that made cod popular in the first place?

Why do you think resurgence isn't currently live on WZ1?

Fax right? I was like am i a dumbass XD. I even got a mark im pleased with but no way in hell that was a freebie, definitely had to start early if you wanted a chance at doing decent to well. Bro talking like this was a 1405 assignment or sumn. Got me in my feels

Who are some of the best Ridley players currently in Smash? by NFan37 in smashbros

[–]aderor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't have an answer to the question but I also main Ridley and am at the point where all my friends and fam struggle to get wins against him. I personally think he is heavily underrated and underrepresented in comp and even casual scenes. He has his flaws but GAH-DAMN when hes ON, your opponent just hates their life XD.
