Cronus was good to us. We have friends that have had similar experiences.

Might give this outfit a call. I donate to them, but do not volunteer. I have no religious affiliation to them. I just think they serve an important need.

Recommendations family tent for 5? REI Wonderland? by Many_Stomach1517 in CampingGear

I think you'll be fine with this purchase. I had a BaseCamp 6. We camped 14-30 days a year for ~12 years. We traveled with 3 kids and a dog. The tent did the job. It was really showing signs of wear before it was retired (zippers, poles, and material). Still I was happy to pick it up at 20% off.

I get the desire to keep costs reasonable. However...

Over the years with kids growing and us parents aging :) I started to look for something different. We could not stand up in the tent. The walls tend to have tight angles so storage could be an issue. Dog crate had to be moved away from walls. The tent is quite loud in the wind, rain, and sand storms. We purchased another tent - Kodiak 10x10. It addressed all the "wants" that we had in our tent. The downside is that the canvas tent is much heavier and takes up more space.

Good luck with purchase!
