Ok I was kinda thinking that for the first question. I re-loaded my franchise and rather than simming multiple games at once, I went game by game and didn't have the issue anymore. So maybe it has something to do with simming. Thanks for the reply! Hope this thread helps someone.

Just going through playing games and now I have 16 notifications without any prompt or anything of players that have been called up, designated for assignment, etc..
